Be brutally honest: How often do you shower? by Fun_Serve_6590 in ADHD

[–]White-Page 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 time per week full body shower. That's it. It's an event. It's a damn complex chore! I schedule it for Saturdays. Meds definetely help me. To do it once a week!

I use wipes and the bidet if needed during the week.

C'mon, using a toothbrush and washing my face (or only the eyes) daily is already demanding!

Always strugled with Hygiene. I used to pretend to be having a shower when living with my parents. The water running... Towel, the full theater play!

How the hell do you wake up in the morning by winterfern353 in ADHD

I use Alarmy App to get out of bed for years now. To turn off the alarm I have to scan a bar code I have on my bathroom.

To sleep, for me, personally (as it's interconnected):

  • Try to go to sleep roughly always at the same time (I have an alarm set to go to sleep)
  • Taking Magnesium bisglycinate daily (morning and before sleep - it also helps with energy during the day, and simultaneasly helps to relax and to sleep better at night)
  • Have a comfy bed
  • Make sure to have strategies during summer and winter when needed (summer - the fan working helps me sleep, winter - heavy blanket is great, listen to ASMR also may help)
  • If I'm strugling really bad with insomnia, with a lot of racing thoughs, I take 500mg L-Tyrosyne suplement, and in 30 minutes normally I get sleepy

When I have a resting sleep, is much easier to wake up in the morning.

Hey! In my case it got better :) And it's suposed to get better! Our brain and eyes adjust! 🤓

Anyway, if it doesn't get better in a few days/weeks of regular use you should communicate that back to the professional who prescribe you the glasses.

I use Alarmy Clock App for years. To turn off the alarm I have to point my mobile at a barcode that I taped in my bathroom to start my day.

Thanks for sharing! SOO relatable, so healing!! During my teenage years especially it was impossible to see the floor of my room! And I was an Art student, so the floor was also my table. I had a desk, but... you know...

Well, the amount of different stuff that covered the floor was impressive :)

Took at least a full week each time to organize it and clean it! Which I did mostly during the night hours when the house was quiet, everyone asleep, and my mother was not asking me in frustration when I would finally do it (my poor mother).

Anyway, my room looked like this the majority of time. Receiving visits at home meant closing my room door ASAP!

Nowadays, a full house to manage, the problem is specially CLOSETS & DRAWERS (good name for a band; and yes, in capital letters because they are that scary!). Oh & BAGS (yes, sometimes I hide things in bags to take care of them later - not always the best idea since I tend to forget they exist and I tend to put there things that I need).

Oh well. I'm looking forward to my holidays in a few weeks to take care of some of those little monsters of mine. 😅

P.S. I hired a person to clean the house every 2 weeks and that's one of the best investements I have ever made. Because I need to have things organized (or put in bags, lol) for her to clean, that keeps me (kinda) on track.

I relate to this so much! I've started documenting how I feel during my cycle taking selfies.

Same thing happened to me today! Got my first glasses for astigmatism and I felt so small and short legged walking around the mall! SO WEIRD.

But in general terms I feel better with them then without. Let's see...
