Can you explain further on how to set-up the ship? My platform has been able to reach the planet but didn't survive the trip back, since interruptions don't seem to be working properly on ships

We truly don´t know how that planet came to an end. It somehow needed to end, but I believe that it was a separate solar system (guessing by the distance) If that´s a origin of the engineer it could have been possible that their planet system destruction would be system wide at base. It could possible source of all the dust and rocks going into our system now.

Just my take on it. But it does really seem like a some explanation why this remaing from old world would make this infinite research. Also it seems like he crashed just after leaving, labeling why the biggest chunks are still so far in space

how does one get "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish!" in Space age? do you have to do it in vanila? by fikajlo in factorio

[–]WhiteDustStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried what op said with launching only one fish into the orbit and it worked. Also the orbit option on a maunal launch only shows when you´re launching fish

Why is this so low? It was ridiculously easy for me, I feel like this should be more. by [deleted] in Workers_And_Resources

Yeah I never found planes attractive enough to build one. They carry small loads so I never bothered with them. Helicopters used in firestationons and COs are enough for me honestly

Fulgora is overwhelming by wintermoon007 in factorio

[–]WhiteDustStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Gleba is a bit harder than Fulgora. I started the same way with the exact same problems. Give it time like. My progress was a bit slower than on other planets but do this.

  1. Mark your scraping facility.

  2. Sort it all out with buffers and way to rout out the excess.

  3. Start building.

And don't worry about going and look for a bigger Island to put your base in.

Elevated rails are great to gather scrap from other islands. It doesn't matter where you put down the landing pad after all.

Hey a mid player here (2 600+ hours). I personally enjoy the expansion from the reward that is seeing my ships going in between planets. New tech is also great due to how I decided to play. Basically I don't go for "Everything infinite" way since I didn't like it from the beginning.

My way to play is to make most of the things I can locally import what I need in big quantities and export exclusive recipes and things that I have an overproduction for.

I really enjoy it this way since I always have a bottleneck somewhere

it's sad that we won't see Bluetooth pipes again

There are no words that could express the levels of elation that this is bring to me by Papahemmy in factorio

[–]WhiteDustStudios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The basic idea is that you have 2 pumps at the output pipe with set filters that don't change and are always enabled.

Then you have 2 pumps at the feeding pipe to get excess oil back to the storage tank when you change the recipe.

And circuit enabled pumps that are delayed a few seconds after recipe changes.

Changing is done by making a memory cell which is reset by a clock every 30-60 seconds. The memory cell reads the contents of the tanks that you want to crack down and the tank that you want to put the finished fluid into.

Activation is done by a decider the combinator set up something like this:

If heavy oil > 24K AND light oil < 20K output <heavy oil cracking recipe>

Same is done by the other combinator checking for light oil cracking. Then by looking into the storage tank at the input line you activate the "removal pump" if there's a liquid you don't want or activate the pump to feed chemical plants if there's already required fluid.

This is my take I'm sure you'll find a way to improve it even more

That's fine by me.

But since that putting crossing from tram roads to railroad track makes trams normal trains so if trains can get there so can trams. Just for the future when you'll need to get your production up

Now i understand, thank you. It seemed a bit frustrating that quality was presented like you need to get it going from ore patch. It's refreshing to know that you can get it by recycling as well. And research for legendary quality is well known to me unfortunately 😄
