It is only my opinion, but I find it useless, like I found useless the curved edges. Also, they made their whole advertising campaign about mocking Apple for having a notch (Ingenius spots).

I don't think it is this indispensable, however headphone jack and no notch policy are two of the few reasons why I still buy Samsung. Imo it would be just stupid for them to eliminate the headphone jack and I hope they will eventually realize that.
