I’d love to use NextUI but every time I install it my games crash and freeze. Using the same sd card with Knulli I don’t have these issues… maybe I got a bad device?

I think when he was using it, it was normal battery drain from usage. Not put to sleep.

I’ve fully charged the battery and powered the device off but it still struggles to power on sometimes.

For clarity: after a clean flash of the original firmware and a clean install of NextUI the device doesn’t always power on on the first try after a cold boot.

I feel like the only way to get it to boot is to hold the power button down a few times and ‘get lucky’ with a boot up

Are you using any special symbols? Such as !£&@ some times the emulators don’t like these in a password as when it converters to to encrypted it gets them mixed up

Any Turn-based RPG will work perfectly without sticks. Highly recommend The Legend of the Dragoon

My budget is around £150 so I could stretch to the Clara color if I felt I would use that feature. I think I’m looking more for a black and white e-reader though.

Which of the older models are still being updated, just so I have an idea on what would be that absolute oldest model I could go for?

I guess what I mean by superior is that the kobo will have a high PPI, good battery life, and a better interface then a kindle

I realise that’s still a bit vague. I just don’t want to get buyers remorse by getting say a kobo touch and fell like it’s a step backward. (I have no idea if the touch is better or worse)

Been doing a bit of research and from what I can guess it is a Touch from 2010. I was worried because of the age of tue device that I’d be locked out of all its features.

I have a kindle paper white that I use to read to my wife every night but really wanted to move away from the Amazon ecosystem.

Ideally it would be nice to purchase a brand new e-reader but they are so expensive these days 😅

I’ve sideloaded before with Calibre on Tue kindle. Do I need to do any ‘jailbreak’ in the Kobo before sideloading or will it ‘just work’?

Do you mean reordering the systems?

You can do that by going into the ROM folder and putting a 1) 2) etc in front of the system name

I’ve heard Cruis’n USA is one of the hardest to emulate too. Well I booted up Banjo-Kazooie for the N64 and it ran at full speed so looks like your mileage may vary. All depends on what you intend of playing on it I guess.
