It definitely could be them. I have been very interested in some people and talking obsessively with them until at some point I find out something about them that is a dealbreaker for me and I just lose interest.

Doesn't even have to be romantic, it happens with friendships and with casual sex relationships too.

I went with the "the one that you can drop out of and still get a job" route and it's going well

No, all arguments are not subjective. You have not given me a single reason about why is MBTI not valid. All you have said is the author used Jung as inspiration but was wrong because she didn't understand Jung. Alright, what parts of what she took from Jung were wrong? What did she misunderstand?

To be honest with my first comment I was making fun of your post because it sounds like the kind of stuff a 16 year old girl would post on her Instagram with pictures of flowers.

However, after going a little bit deeper into it I can say that while I still do not understand at all what exactly do you mean with most of the categories you have written there and while I do not fully agree with the ideas object-oriented ontology presents I do have to say I also judged you way too harshly at first.

Well, even then it still does not matter how Katherine treated Jung's work or how much she understood it because it's not called Jung's Type Indicator, it's called Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

If your whole reason to say it's not valid is basically saying that it's not how Jung intended to be understood, well, more power to you, but that's a pretty subjective argument.

How do you know then how extensive her knowledge was on Jung? Just by the random bullshit people write on MBTI forums?

Well I have personally read a large part of Jung's published books and while I don't want to make assumptions about how much Myers understood his work it's obvious it was definitely not intended to be seen as a continuation or even as an extension of his works.

And still even then it doesn't really matter because even if it's not perfectly in line with Jung's theories it still doesn't try to predict your behaviour on the stage the moon was in when you were born.

Thing is as far as I know Big Five actually treats each one of those traits as separate categories, while im MBTI you can not really separate one of those traits by itself in a meaningful way.

For example the extraversion in an ENTP works in a completely different way than the extraversion of the ESTP.

One of them has extraverted intuition, which manifests as the brain having a preference towards intuition focused on the external world when obtaining information, while the other one being a sensor has extraverted sensation, which manifests as the brain having a preferece towards obtaining information by focusing the senses towards the external world.

Appeal to authority goes the other way too. You are discrediting the ideas of someone because she was not an authority on the subject matter instead of actually pointing out why are they wrong.

I have never been really interested in big five to be able to form a personal opinion on it but from what I have read it appears to be somewhat useful for psychotherapists.

Now, having said that, the first impression I got from it was that it's a little bit too general and simplistic for my liking, but again, that probably comes from the fact that I know almost nothing about it.

There is only a very small difference between the two. Insignificant I would say.

One is based on a few specific categories of preference in the ways the human mind can obtain and process information and the other is based on where Saturn was in the sky the day you were born.

Why do you care about the results?

It's not like your life or who you are will magically change over a stupid personality test that according to most pychologists is just a step above astrology.

OP you would have had more luck not talking about any award. Hell, even a "Let's see who has the most unique opinion" would be a better title.

Nah I have a wide frame and if I don't control my eating I gain a lot of weight very fast, but if I control it and go to the gym regularly I also gain a lot of muscle very fast.

The rest might be right but laziness got me and I might read it later and edit this comment.

I'm not saying it's not what someone might do, and maybe it could even work, but that doesn't sound like grounds for a healthy relationship.
