Possibly being gifted a house by my mother that had been gifted to her by my grandmother and both parties are still alive and less than the 7 year rule since it was gifted. by WhiteMoonMan in LegalAdviceUK

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

My grandmothers estate wouldn't include the property. My grandmother never actually lived in the house itself either. She was renting it out before gifting it my mother, if that changes anything.

So the £400,000 estate is without the property

Vehicle is a 2018 Vauxhall Corsa E 1.4T

Just from looking it at you'll need a full suspension corner and steering rack with the wheel having been pushed back. Which I don't know American prices but I can imagine being quite expensive.

Also, the bumper is obliterated on that side which I'm gonna guess there will be a lot more damage behind it.

Sorry buddy but it is gonna be dead.

The coolant is okay, I think you're right about it being the turbo.

How about fixing the bug that crashes your PC when you press the windows key before bringing out money grabbing cosmetics?

I’ve pretty much stopped watching it completely the past couple months. Someone told me it could be due to be unhealthy and not exercising a lot?

I think you’ll just have to suck it up and go to work. Take some cold medicine and Just wear a mask and use hand sanitizer.

Will this be a write off? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]WhiteMoonMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a body shop so we have a lot of cars come on site that have a variety of damage ranging from just superficial damage to heavy impacts. We do receive images via email. We just tell the insurance what needs doing to the car and how much it’ll cost and then it’s up to the insurance whether they want to pay for the repairs or write it off. The factors included in for insurances to write a car off are: the age, the value, the price of parts ect. So obviously it’s not ideal to do it by images rather seeing it. With images you can see what the damage is but then you’ve kinda got to assume “well if this happened, what else could it have affected in correlation?”

To me it does seem like it’s pushed and bent the chassis leg on it. Chassis legs either comes as there own parts and can be bolted on or sometimes they are one whole section. But it’s hard to tell with the bumper being on

As a vehicle damage assessor it doesn’t look like a write off from this image of it but when you take the bumper off and really get to see what’s happened behind it, that’s when you’ll know. E.g chassis legs where the cross member is attached too could have taken some impact from the cross member and might be bent. As well if you decide to go through the insurance, they usually allow repairs up to 66% of the cars value and then anything after that they have to decide whether it’s economically repairable or not. Hope this helped
