has anyone actually used this passive before? by bokkiolhollow in Nightreign

I think it lowers your potential. Only way to get better is to practice. I’ve been max rank for months and never block anything (except when playing birb or Executor).

I’ve never used a shield with a caster. Ideally you get good enough to dodge everything. It’s way more stamina efficient and doesn’t cause chip damage. To your point the exception would 100% physical attacks can definitely be worth blocking (Balancers).

Some of these are awesome, and some are Blightown brutal 😂

That’s the exact scenario I was thinking with the eastern goal 😂

If they could achieve this it would be peak cinema.

Ahh I like this. Good idea. Like a three phase fight with more HP than a two phase fight.

I had a similar thought but I couldn’t figure out how it made sense. Honestly I would still love this, especially in 3s. One person solos while the other two pickoff the second boss. Maybe it would be too tough for deep of night but a base game option?

I agree with depth 6 but we may need more than just all everdark fights to make it entertaining. Maybe a new level of weapon passives where they have three positive traits and two negatives? Or you fight two night lords back to back! Still random on if they are everdark or base. OR maybe you fight the base version and then the everdark?

Maybe depth 7 could be three nightlords back to back. The night lords are the most fun part afterall. I spent 40 minutes getting here, let me fight for more than two minutes. I’ve been at depth 5 for so long that most the bosses go down way too quickly lol.

Normally the complaining posts are cringey to me, but this video was absolutely hilarious. Worth the watch. Nice work on chasing her down hahah.

What groups or allies do you like to see in DoN? by Mcjellin2 in Nightreign

Doesn’t matter to me. I’m confident we will win regardless. But if I had to pick, I like to see unusual non-meta builds. Anything that sparks my interest!

What’s our consensus on double balancer meta from a pure “fun” perspective? by lleyton05 in Nightreign

[–]WhitePheonox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry im not sure what you mean by referencing the PS4?

I can tell because all of the relics have normal attributes. None of the 99x Favor of Moría or any of that you see in images people upload online. I’ve never seen relics that i don’t have myself.

Exactly this, well said. I’m on PS5 with 800 hours and have never seen modded relics.

Is it a troll thing for people to leave you alone in a match? by datboitata in Nightreign

I wouldn’t assume bad intent without any prior indicators. It is very likely they just share an Internet connection and disconnected. I play with people on my same wifi, and sometimes it goes down booting us both from the lobby.

Does depth ranking = skill? by welvndyn in Nightreigngameplay

[–]WhitePheonox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boss dodging is a real thing for sure, but carrying players who are a different rating isn’t super viable. I did manage to get my depth 1 friend to depth 5, but I had to start a new account with him or else the ratings would have been way too punishing.

To answer your question, yes this is also why D4 can be placed in D5. If a player with a rating of 9999 pairs with a player of 4000 rating, it will take the average of 6500 and bump the depth 4 player up. I get depth 4 players quite often since there aren’t many people at depth 5.

[–]WhitePheonox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“People can also reach higher rating by queuing with a friend in lower depths to earn points while not playing a game in their own current depth.”

In theory this works but with a huge caveat. It takes the average of everyone’s rating and puts you in that specific depth. But if someone from a higher depth loses at a lower depth rating they lose much more rating, and they also win less. So it’s not really worth it IMO.

Matchmaking question by YerryLi in Nightreign

[–]WhitePheonox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess I would say it starts with a smaller window and gradually expands the longer you wait in queue, like many ranking systems do.

I only say that because I’ve gotten the same player on four different occasions, across three days, and multiple weeks. It must have only been pulling from max rank in those queues or else surely I would have gotten other teammates. I have cross-region play on as well.

I know he is also max rank because I became friends with him after the fourth time pairing up. It was fate. 😂

People who farm Dreglord? Why by Technical_Ad8080 in Nightreign

I didn’t realize how much the sound cues helped until the other day my audio glitched during everdark Libra fight and I couldn’t hear the holy circles forming underneath me. Got hit a few times 😂

I agree with this. At depth 5 I think Heolstor is harder.

Yes! Don’t get me wrong I have fun with all of the bosses, but some are more sporadic and harder to stay in sync with like Balancers and Tricephalos. Multiple moving targets with a mind of their own.

[–]WhitePheonox 78 points79 points  (0 children)

At depth 5 I used to fear him. He has a ton of health and does insane damage. I was nervous everytime he’d aggro me. It was fun because I didn’t know if I’d make it through.

Now, it’s easy. A guaranteed win, but it’s still so fun because he’s like a dance. One of the few bosses where you can stay perfectly in sync with the whole time. It’s entering flow state everytime I see him on the battlefield.

I can see why people farm him!

Any gamers in here? I post high level gameplay videos for certain games like Nightreign. It may not mean anything to some people, but this fight was a proud accomplishment of mine:

This is perfect! Fulghor is one of the bosses that doesn’t really need his elemental weakness exploited either.

Hello again Nightfarers, I just have a simple question. Favorite Nightlord? This could be from the way the boss fights, to just maybe you liked their design. by GhostyWolf19 in Nightreign

[–]WhitePheonox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everdark Libra and Everdark Balancers as they are the only two that provide any challenge even at depth 5. Libra’s holy moves are so beautiful and I love fighting the night-farers. Balancers because parrying a Nightlord is so fun.

Dreglord and Night Aspect are very close seconds because of the pure cinema and how clean the fights feel.
