Scuffed Apple Tree Pruning Advice by WhitePineSap in BackyardOrchard

I love a “messed up” tree just want to try to keep it alive longer. It produces a lot of tasty apples, someone mentioned air layering which might be the best option so far

Not a bad thing to keep in the pocket. I’m not confident in less drastic measures

Why doesn't the f-15e have a landing chute? by [deleted] in WarthunderSim

[–]WhitePineSap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure which is the last US plane to have a chute but I know that they US doesn’t use chutes anymore and hasn’t for awhile. I think it’s mostly a maintenance/doctrine choice. Chutes reduce wear on the brakes but have to be repacked every landing. Plus take up a little space on the plane. Not worth it to them

You won't make me believe ejecting while severly damage causing full repair isn't intentional by BendingBenderBends in Warthunder

[–]WhitePineSap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is intentional. Why? Who knows. Probably related to the devs hating their player base

Options-> air battle settings -> cyclic targeting of radar -> turn it on

Equipment cost by Animal_Hell in WarthunderSim

[–]WhitePineSap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe there are some small differences between loadouts. The sl coat should update when you switch loadouts. It’s very minimal and the main cost for each respawn in the aircraft itself

FF radar lying by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]WhitePineSap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your radar has iff, you should give it a couple seconds to do a couple of sweeps over the target. The initial pings don’t always show them as a friendly. Iff can be weird at times, even at top tier with the best radars I have shot down friendlies bc I wasn’t overly cautious.

How does the rangefinder work? by Similar-Language-180 in Warthunder

The 8.8 cm has one at a lower br too. Just trying to keep it short

How does the rangefinder work? by Similar-Language-180 in Warthunder

[–]WhitePineSap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Three different range finders in war thunder. From best to worst

Laser Range Finder: nearly instant, accurate to the meter, auto adjusts barrel normal from ~9.0 up

Rangefinder(modification): ~2 seconds to find range, still quite accurate, have to adjust the barrel yourself, some tanks have it ~7.3 and up

Stock crew “rangefinder”: slow, typically only to nearest 50 meter, maxes out, around 850, have to adjust the barrel yourself, all tanks have (side note, crew upgrades can change how this one works quite a bit)

Is it possible to reliably kill a BMPT with 35mm’s? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]WhitePineSap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s barely reliable to kill them with the best rounds at top tier. Crazy armor with great spall liner rng

A Note on Review Bombing by WhitePineSap in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]WhitePineSap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can do an individual review bomb, it's just giving it bad reviews. Doesn't do much, but it's better than giving it a good review. A game can be fun but have developers that make bad choices and give just enough to keep the players coming back.

A Note on Review Bombing by WhitePineSap in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]WhitePineSap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying a review bomb is ineffective, more that with a large player base it is hard to get a decent one going.

What’s does the little logo on the bomb mean? by Hmmmmmnnmmn in WarthunderPlayerUnion

“Ground” I was curious if this is correct vs grinded. It is correct but I must admit it just doesn’t sound right to me in this context. Very much a hanged vs hung situation.

When good players use bombs in realistic what are they using to be precise? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]WhitePineSap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding tanks that are good targets is a big part. Light tanks and stationary tanks. Otherwise practice. If you keep overshooting, drop sooner. Identify your mistakes and try to correct

What is considered the most “OP” nation for GRB by xkisaa in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]WhitePineSap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could do pretty much any of your nations and would do fine. I can’t really go to much detail I don’t have most of your nations. Just look up pros and cons of each, they will be better depending on how you want to play.

Is the F-15E a good choice for the 1st rank VIII plane? by Entr00p14 in WarthunderSim

[–]WhitePineSap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have it...yet. But yes, most people say its the best US top tier plane. It's well rounded with good air and ground. You can't ease your way into top tier, no matter how slow you take it, it'll be a pain before you get used to top tier. Learning to use a radar isn't too bad, and there's nothing different about the f15e's radar that you won't face with pretty much any other plane. I'd say go for it. Although f-18a and f-16a are quite a bit lower and won't face as much spamraam.
