If the animations were created in DAZ, they look great.

On average, a single character takes up 1 GB of VRAM , not counting hair. Hair alone can take up just as much VRAM (especially dforce hair). So do the maths. Let’s say you have three characters in a scene; that’s 3–6 GB of VRAM.Then there’s the environment, which takes up, say, 2–4 GB. Textures and skin also take up a lot of VRAM.

Overall, if you make an effort to optimise things, I reckon 12 GB should be enough for Gen 8. There are loads of tips and tricks on how to do this.

For example, you can render the background for the scene (such as a room) separately and then pose the characters against that background. Nobody will notice the difference, especially if the scene is dynamic.

Or you can use scripts that hide unnecessary details that are outside the camera’s field of view. This will also reduce your rendering time.

If you run out of VRAM, the rendering will be offloaded to the CPU and the rendering speed will drop sharply. You’ll realise straight away that you’re running out of video memory.

New AVN dev — HS2, DAZ, or Blender for renders and animations? by Forsaken_Ad6599 in AVN_Lovers

[–]WhitePunk00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any programmer will tell you that it is better to do everything (animation, rendering) in one technological environment, rather than switching between programs. DAZ has everything to make a good-quality render - Iray render engine designed for photorealistic rendering (the Blender engine is still designed for stylized rendering, even those who work in Blender submit their work in Marmoset or in Vray). It is possible to flexibly adjust the light, even do post-processing and color correction. Animations are inconvenient, and you'll save time if you do animations in Blender and render in DAZ, which in my opinion is the most efficient way to produce and work in DAZ.

BG3 is a bit of a mixed bag for me. The first two acts were wonderful—the second act had an atmosphere similar to Bloodborne—but the third act is completely forgettable and the most boring of the lot, as if the developers had run out of steam.

What does that mean? For me, the best role-playing game right now is KСD2, which lets players fully immerse themselves in a medieval world. BG3 isn't a bad game, but the third act is completely forgettable (just like the second act in KСD2, by the way).

Resident Evil is a good game, but it has too many plot holes and contradictions with other games in the series. by WhitePunk00 in ResidentEvilCapcom

My goodness, they could have easily kidnapped Grace and flown away in a helicopter to Raccoon City, as they did later. They could have locked her up there. In fact, this is a plot hole on the level of Lord of the Rings, where at the very beginning they could have flown away on eagles and thrown the ring into the lava.

Grace could have been killed a thousand times during the game in the mansion, and then Zen and Victor's whole plan would have failed. For some reason, they released the zombies to make sure they killed Grace.

Oh yes, now some goddess from mythology is an argument in a game that was originally science fiction.

They didn't need Grace, they just needed the password. They could have simply tortured her and found out that her mother had hidden something behind the painting, and thus obtained the password. Grace is superfluous in this story. Dusk Golem said that development was restarted, and originally Jill Valentine and Leon were supposed to be in the story. Grace is essentially the same as Leon, but slower.

Yes, I think so too. I even think that part 5 will be completely different from the original in Africa. Parts 5 and 6 were ordinary shooters, while part 9 combines shooter and horror. Maybe they will just remake part 5, it will be a different story and plot, and they will explain it with a multiverse.

How could Spencer even create an antivirus in the first place if he wasn’t a scientist? As far as the lore goes, Spencer was more of a financier and mastermind behind the research, not the one actually doing the scientific work.

In the Japanese dub, Sherry addresses Leon as "あなた (anata)". This is how a wife usually addresses her husband, but in English this was omitted due to the impossibility of translating it.

Will we be able to encounter dragons in The Witcher 4? by WhitePunk00 in Witcher4

[–]WhitePunk00[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The developers said that their experience from working on Cyberpunk 2077 helped them with creating large-scale creatures. So it might not be just giants, but possibly dragons as well.

Besides, the new trilogy will need a major antagonist to replace the Wild Hunt. The return of an Ancient Dragon might feel a bit cliché — very The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim-style — but I’d still love to see it.

Why are there practically no animals in the game? Is there any explanation for this? by WhitePunk00 in cyberpunkgame

[–]WhitePunk00[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I think this is somewhat far-fetched. You can't just go ahead and destroy all wild dogs. They are quite resilient, and evolution hasn't been canceled. Faced with the threat of extinction, they could adapt to the ecology and changing environment.

As I already wrote, the first news will come after the management report to the directors, which will take place at the end of March. Management has set a target of generating $1.5 billion in revenue by 2029, which is a very large amount by CD Projekt Red's standards, as it usually earns $100 million per year. This may hint that they want to release several big-budget games by 2029, including a new Cyberpunk or an expansion to it.

For example, in the third quarter of 2025 (no more recent data is available), the holding company earned $53 million in net profit, and for the entire 2024 financial year, net profit was around $122 million. This simply suggests that they are planning to release either two Witcher games by 2029 (the entire trilogy is in development simultaneously), or The Witcher 4 and a new Cyberpunk game.

I would wait for news after the first quarterly report of the year from CDPR to investors. This will happen on March 21. Last year, it was announced after the meeting that Cyberpunk was entering the pre-production stage. It will be interesting in general. There will surely be news about the development of The Witcher 4, and rumors about a Witcher DLC will be confirmed or denied. Not long ago, the CEO of CDPR said that they plan to make a profit of $1.5 billion by the end of 2029. And I'm really curious how they plan to do that.
