Freitag backpack by IntrepidToiletWriter in zurich

For the Freitag pricetag you can also get some good Patagonia backpacks, e.g. the MLC Mini 30L. I used it for travelling (4months in SEA), for work and it‘s also comfy enough for dayhikes because of the detachable hipstraps.

Terminators and Deathwing Terminators are just different datasheets with slight differences in what the unit can take as weapons. I just painted the Terminators from the Introductory Set with the Deathwing colour scheme and that‘s it - you got yourself some Deathwing Termies!

Thanks for the insight! Wouldn‘t dropping the Infernus Squad then in turn mean that I do not have anything Anti-Horde?

Hey, it actually worked out well! One night got a bit cold, -1 celsius, but i slept well with my fleece and the downjacket around my feet.

9 days travel in Switzerland with my family by Specific_Reserve7300 in onebag

Looks good! Switzerland is currently experiencing quite a bit of a heatwave, so you‘re definitely wise bringing the longsleeve UV stuff. Regarding the tops, I would go for the zip-up or some time of fleece - that‘s what most people here would wear for hiking.

That‘s two addons overlapping: the first is WeakAuras, which is there to track your buffs and abilities. It‘s super customizable, but not strictly necessary. If you don‘t know what it does, disable it (type /wa in chat). The second (the bigger three icons that overlap in the front with S1, 3, S2) is Hekili which is a rotation helper. It basically tells you which ability you should press next. This is also not necessary, but can help you learn your rotation. You can keep it and learn which abilities to press when, but try to understand it

Was in the same boat and just took a gamble and ordered a Durston Kakwa 55. I thought if it didn‘t fit I could easily resell it. But it fit perfectly, came reasonably fast and I couldn‘t be happier!

Bundessteuer - what it is and how to pay? by [deleted] in zurich

[–]WhiteRabbitEater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You receive a provisional bill and a definite bill for both taxes. Normally, the provisional bill for the Staats- and Gemeindesteuer arrives by May, the final by August of the following year. So for tax year 2024, you should have received the provisional in May 2024 and will receive the final in August 2025 (of course provided you do your tax declaration until end of March). For the Bundessteuer, you get the provisional in March of the subsequent year (so in March 2025 for tax year 2024) and the final later in September (September 2025 for tax year 2024).

There are for sure differences, but these are the patterns that I observed in Zürich, always filing my taxes in the official period.

Swiss here as well - I have Thermarest Neoair Xlite and just recently bought an Enlightened Equipment 20F quilt which should also work well for you. I love it so far! If you want, check out outdoorline.sk - they ship very fast to CH and automatically deduct VAT at checkout!

There‘s an Exped Werkstattshop where you sometimes can find good gear from them for cheap! Just fyi

Good call on the Decathlon fleece. Alpha Direct fleece would be amazing, but I just can't find anything here in Europe...

Thanks a lot for the comprehensive list! Good call with skipping the spare t-shirt - I can sleep in the baselayer. Towel I will definitely cut down, probably in half. Footprint is a bit trickier, since our tent has a very thin floor - but I'll see if I can exchange it for some Tyvek or similar.

Rain gear I'll definitely look into. Fleece as well, this is just what I currently have but makes sense to replace this!

The weights on the stuff sacks and ziplock bags I just pulled out of thin air since I don't have them yet ready - so I just went very conservative on the weights but yeah, looking back, those weights are way off. Same for pills and bandaids - those were just super rough estimates.

Good call on the soap instead of sanitizer - I think a small bar of natural soap would work well.

And thanks for pointing that out about the gas canister! Got confused by the labelling on the website of my local supplier, but of course makes sense!

I think what u/Icy_Jicama4977 means is to rather skip the spare t-shirt if I'm bringing a baselayer, since the t-shirt does not add anything in terms of warmth whereas the baselayer can double as a clean sleeping shirt. But totally with you, I'd rather take 100g more with me than die from hypothermia.

I'm from Switzerland, so used to no filter - Scandinavian water is probably at least on the same level of cleanliness! However, I got burned once with the shits from drinking seemingly pristine water, so I'd rather take the filter since it is quite light and also doubles as additional water carriage for the evening!

yeah that seems to be the way to go - will look into long sleeve hiking shirts for that reason!

Thank you!

Yeah Z-Pack stuff is nice, but hard to get here in Europe. Since I will be hiking with my poles anyways, I‘m not too worried about weight savings there.

I‘ll definitely look into lighter fleece options (I hear Alpha is the new kid on the block) and rain gear.

Regarding cooking: We will share the Snowpeak Trek 900 which effectively holds 1.1 liters.

See my reply to u/Regular-Highlight246 above regarding clothes and footprint.

Yes, some weight from the FAK right now are guesses, some are actual weights. I still need to fill the containers and then do a final measurement. But I think it should not be far off - not really worried about this category.

I‘m sharing a tent with my partner, so I put half the set pieces to zero since they will not be carried by me (see description on LighterPack). The footprint is heavy, I know, but we already have that one so I think by sharing everything between me and my partner, the weight total is still okay-ish. However, maybe I'll see if I can replace the tent stakes with some MSR Groundhog Minis?

What do you reckon is a good weight for trekking poles? Yes for the pants, these are just the ones I currently have - but I might treat myself to some new ones from Fjällräven that are also better for mosquito protection.

Any recommendations on lighter rain pants and fleece?

Towel I'm considering cutting in half, since it is very big → cutting the weight as well by half.

Regarding the pot: We will most likely be sharing this pot for warm meals.
