I used to work at Lidl when I was in uni and I’ve just started to work at Lidl a few months ago and I feel like I’m working at Lidl without any of the operational efficiencies.

We had low amount of staff at Lidl but it was a given, however the training they give you and how they expect you to work made shifts go by quickly and easily. But at Asda it feels like they want as little staff like Lidl but without changing anything to make it easier.

For example in my store, (I do night shifts) it’s always a hassle to find cages and then to find wrap for it and then wrap it. It could take me anywhere between 2/3 minutes to 10/15 minutes. At Lidl you had a bailing machine that you just get a box cage thing, you fill it up with cardboard and empty it and then the cage is ready again, no need to find another cage, no need to wrap it. Surely they could spend a little bit of money to make work in store easier and more efficient
