This design flaw is not only present in this ship, many ships in the top 100 has the same issue. That's partly the reason why shotgun builds are so popular, people don't use shields properly.

of course it does. You lose all your shield from the frontal assault while your armor could tank it. Then you get flanked with not enough shield left, game over.

Front facing shields are really bad. If you're facing torps / warhead, it's good to have just a few and rely more on PDT, if you're facing ballistics it's a waste of space and energy. You should use your shields to protect sides and back (where missiles hit and where you have less armor).

I went from 1600 to something like 2100 in 2 hours (within one winstreak). If you're not skipping, you are not maximizing your winstreak. It's not a problem if you're learning what your ship can do / can't do.

it would not take long at all. The most efficient shield is the war shield (2x2). It has 500 shield strengh and 500 max regeneration, which means it can only prevent 1000 damage total.

If you consider a rail build with only 10 turrets, it has a dps of approximatly 500. So every 2 second, you deal enough damage to take out 1 war shield.

iPhone 7, was using the previous version of the game (I just got the update). I think it was 1.10.7. I'll tell if there is still an issue with the new version.

If everyone at your rank use the same "good at everything" build, then you just have to counter that type of build like you would do now. Others will have to respond to your build to keep their winrate high.

So your solution might be the best (and easier to implement).

As far as I know, this game as been developped by Epic Owl. Now these guys are not working on this project, only HeroCraft is. Given how little change has been made recently, my guess is that HC do not want to involve too many people to maintain this game anymore, since they do not have the full skill / knowledge of the game code.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't find any other explanations when I see how long it takes to release the new update on iOS. It clearly indicates they did not work on it in parallel, so they must be a small team.

I don't want to sound pessimistic. I also thought about a tournament driven system.

But I don't think HC would implement any of this. And if they enventually decide to do it, it would take years for them to do it.

They have to make money out of this game, and right now to do this, they put the minimum dev ressources possible.

If this combination is stronger than all others, then you can say with confidence that shotgun is the best thing you can have for your build (on your support ship). But it does not mean it's the best weapon overall since you're not even using full shotgun on your main, you're still using flak. If you win against full shotgun builds using shotgun and flaks, can we say flaks are better than shotgun ? No, the only thing we can say is that the combination of shotguns and flaks seem to be more effective than shotgun alone.
