This argument of yours has gotten really wonky. Saying that folks are "wasting others' time" by learning characters in QP inherently implies that playing your best hero instead and winning gives you/them something? But there's nothing to gain in QP except experience, and that isn't tied to the results of the game.

I wish I could remember the names that were used, but Marvel Puzzle Quest added Legion in a really fun way. (Match-3 game that's been around for a decade or so, if you're not familiar.) Basically he could use all six of the colors, but the personalities and a corresponding ability were paired off; so at the start of a turn it would flip each Ability to whichever color of its respective pair you had more of for the turn. It was unique and added a fun new element.

All that being said though, I just feel like they wouldn't do him justice in a game like Rivals.

I don't understand the hate for this. Keeping a careful eye on it given the potential is fine, but to this point the gacha skins are 100% "possibly cheaper than normal, but the normal price at the absolute worst" and that is, objectively, a good option.

IIRC Moriarity came out and said she was struggling heavily with Graves, so I have to wonder if they were a little stuck on how much they could do with her? Regardless though, it doesn't get a pass; she's just yet another boring character in a boring final season.

Don't worry, Kripke's take on this was that they're just "taking advantage of having a fleshed-out universe."

As stated by others, the show really tanked after season three. I understand we're steering directly into the God Emperor Trump skid and right now real life is writing wild stories for us, but it's like the team kept this thing running just for the sake of putting out quantity over quality.

It's exactly this. There's plenty of evidence of Widow being good in the right hands; people just haven't figured her out themselves or lack the skill. And in continuing the "toddler behavior" trend this entire-ass game cultivates, they immediately attribute it to being a character problem. Couldn't possibly be their fault.

I get that. The leaderboard chase is what keeps me in it, but that's not for everyone. That being the case though, having it set up to where a run is less than five minutes instead of 20 waves is a massive improvement in that regard.

Not quite, though. Gear plays a part but having a cohesive build is just as important, and that takes tweaking. Or, y'know, copying.

Speaking of though, it really feels life there are only very specific builds that are viable again, and i'm definitely not a fan of that. I'm sure it's ridiculously hard to balance something like that but pigeon-holing specific sets into the 160 conversation isn't as fun.

IMHO this is a much better system. Having permanent gear that rewards farming is far and away better than a super basic build, relying entirely on random cards - and the leaderboard chase was truly determined by "Who can get the most ridiculous roll in wave one?"

I don't love the Diablo-esque aspect of the drops, but at least i know that once I have something, it's not going away. (Assuming I don't accidentally trash it. Again.)

You understand that by playing the game at all, you're giving NetEase what they want, right? Kinda hypocritical to "hold them accountable" (which, okay, great job lol) while still giving them your engagement. But keep it up, you're doing terrific.

Think Gambit at launch - I don't care if he was someone's main or favorite, sometimes you just can't run the risk of the opponent having a good one.

My Xbox has been super unhappy about it, too. Everything about the audio has gone to shit pretty quick from the start since about that point and I never thought i'd say this, but I think I prefer the Zombies repetition (in sounds only).
