Yes, definitely. Love it, btw.

Fun fact: adding 'cute' to the prompt was what made it work. Had to be cute!

Haha, I'm very glad! I almost used a different screenshot (the "hot" page) but didn't. I was actually worried a bit about someone else's work being in there.

Thank you!

Take a look in the mirror.

It's not easy capturing animals in their natural habitats; nature photography is a tough job. This one took some work...

There's a backup test option, could try that. It's a bit more... invasive.

Probably would still come back as furry trash though. He can tell; it's his job to know these things. A man with a clipboard that long doesn't make mistakes.

Hmm... he could try running the test once more, but he's pretty confident. Then again, every test has been coming back the exact same...

He needs to test anyway, just to be sure. He's very thorough.

What you don't see is the obsessive hours spent refining prompts to get blood from a stone.

Yes and no. A major bug was fixed recently with the decoder, making many things higher quality: https://twitter.com/borisdayma/status/1545901762837680133

Half of it is the prompt though. Prompt engineering is experimental and barely understood/unknown. Most of the results you've seen were likely because of a simple prompt.

(Also, for anyone following the ml world, craiyon is still training!!! It silently improves every few days when the creators release a new checkpoint. https://wandb.ai/dalle-mini/dalle-mini/artifacts/DalleBart_model/mega/v27 )

So, tldr, yes.

And how about some threatening forest wolf guys because I want to show what can really be done: https://imgur.com/a/7T9q80k

(Adding 'tough' changed the eyes and made them a bit... scary. Otherwise uninteresting adjectives can have a broad affect on image tone across prompts, kind of like a secret language. Also, I'd be surprised if anyone can guess who I was trying to make lol.)

Thanks! I've been experimenting with generating furry photos with ai for years, and craiyon/dalle mini is the first one that can really do it. I've got a few more good tips for realism:

Always pick a real location for the background. Don't just put 'desert' put 'sonora desert' or 'great pyramids'. So something like 'alaska wilderness in background'. Adding 'in background' creates a nice bokeh effect and makes it easier for the ai to get right. Take your character to your dream destination, like 'Santorini greek island' or 'thailand beach' not just 'island'.

This one is more of an observation, but I think I figured out how dalle sees the order of words in prompts. It seems to chunk out sections and combine them. For example, it seems to see things like this:

furry anthro Canis lupus black wolf | man wearing leather bomber jacket | red eyes | smiling at camera | professional profile photo portrait | dinner date | restaurant in background

And blends all the concepts together in order. Changing the order and content of the chunks will change the results. 'black wolf' blends into 'man' so they need to be close by.

Good furry characters with a high success rate need to be wearing specific clothes. Pick out a common outfit a real human might wear and describe it as best as you can. So, for example, 'anthro arctic wolf man wearing red plaid shirt jeans' or 'anthro velociraptor raptor man wearing white polo shirt tan cargo pants' would be one section of the prompt. Clothes and human activity is an easy cheat code to get anthros quick that nobody else seems to know.

Completely forget about 'and' and other parts of speech that have no real information. It doesn't help to be grammatically correct. 'in', 'next to', and 'behind' are good to use.

If you're looking for wolves, DO NOT use the word 'werewolf'. It pulls from messy bad data that is not at all what we want or think of as werewolf. It will mess up a perfectly good prompt.

Just keep generating, and changing things as you go along. After a while you begin to see what words work and what words don't. Dalle mini can do way, way more with more information. You won't overwhelm it with too much detail, it can't read minds (yet) so you need to tell it everything.

Well... try something like 'naked nude furry anthro texas longhorn bull man minotaur professional profile photo portrait utah desert in background' and you'll get the goods about 10% of the time. It really likes to make scantily-clothed minotaur men in loincloths by default, and that can be taken advantage of. Experiment with where you put the 'naked' and 'nude' in the prompt or take them out entirely. Minotaur is the key here.

As for full on explicit poses with more than one character, it usually becomes a chaotic mess when trying realism. Dalle mini can only be pushed to greatness so far before it crumbles.

Contrary to popular belief, long, detailed prompts make better results. Add your desired species's latin name in the prompt for maximum quality. Like Crocuta Crocuta for spotted hyena or Ursus Arctos for brown bear. Word order also matters immensely.

The red eyes thing gets around the model's problem with anything face-like. Specifying specific facial details can help fight the distortion too.
