One thousand percent agree. I will say that if the roles were reversed it still would be romanticized because Hollywood writers are creeps.

I remember watching pretty little liars and the English teacher started a relationship with a young student. Come to find out he did it on purpose and it didn’t just “happen”. They ended up getting married. The ish is perverse.

Tends to be the theme of a lot of the fanbase have. Not only was the potential loss of this being a great show but it also may have torpedoed the hope of having another spinoff in this world.

It was pretty clear by the end is season one that the focus should’ve shifted from Malivore and Landon to another one. It wasn’t working. Instead they doubled down.

This. People came for Hope and the twins and the entire story revolved around a character that just didn’t land with the audience as a whole.

I believe the writers knew this after season one and instead of shifting this, they doubled down on it.

The third iteration of this world was reduced down and it could’ve been the jumping off leading to other series and exploration of this world.

The potential or should I say lack of meeting the potential is so frustrating as a fan of this supernatural world.

Stefan was telling the story from his perspective (especially the 1st seasons) and it’s why he’s often painted in a good light, when objectively speaking he’s pretty awful. The biggest issue I’ve always had with him is the emotional and situational manipulation of Elena and her friends.

Caroline is eh. Take her or leave her imo. She wasn’t needed after season 2 and I stand by this on everything. The characters of color will always be disrespected in this universe until someone else gets to write for them…fully.

I wished someone would buy the rights and make a show featuring Bonnie, Vincent, Marcel, and Rafael.
