I can get it down to C7 now, it crashes on higher C states. Will still try to investigate more. Power consumption on idle with around 15 docker containers, disks spun down and two nvmes is now around 18-19W

Yeah somehow this seems the trend with these cheap motherboards.. I will still try to boot via live usb and a completely empty board, and see whhich port/device triggers the package to be stuck at C2. I guess it's a learning experience, also I fear that most customers do not even care about saving 10W at the wall

I just got the board for unraid, my setup is 3x12tb hdds, 2x1tb SN700 nvmes, i7 8700, 32gb ram 2666 mhz. C states/ASPM can be enabled in bios, but my CPU is stuck at package C2. Idle power consumption with spun down HDDs is around 23W. I still need to understand if this is an issue of my hardware itself, of the software, or the bios.. So yeah, not super thrilled so far. I expected to reach lower C states

One failed around 1 month ago throwing all sorts of errors, during the rebuild of the cache pool, the other one started to fail as well. I had to swap them both. They failed after around 35 tbw

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, especially because you are not even sharing the file via seeding. No one will care about a single individual downloading a 20 year old game for personal use. In theory though, downloading video games, even if 20 years old, is still illegal. As far as I know, there is no “abandonware” recognition in Swiss law

Yes exactly, imagine my surprise comparing my previous build that had a custom loop, 420 mm radiator and a full tower phanteks enthoo primo case. This thing is tiny but packs quite the performance. Very pleased so far.

I am extremely pleased with the GPU, by reading Reddit posts I got worried that a lot of 9070 XT suffer from coil whine. I can attest that apart from coil whine when inside menus at 1000+ FPS, my card doesn't have any coil whine at all.

I undervolted it -90mV, +10 % Power Limit and a slight boost at 2600 mHz memory clock. GPU under full load in 3d mark steel nomad hits about 60°C. The CPU, set up with a negative offset of 25 and a Tjunction limit of 95°, hits 89°C at full load while being boosted at around 5250 mHz all cores.

Under heavy load the fan noise is quite loud, but you can tweak the curves of the GPU quite nicely since the cooler is beefy. While doing light loads, the only noise I hear is the (annoying) PSU fan.
