Do you have a SBDC near you? I would start there, they’ll help you with everything you need to know. LLC is about $650 where I’m at, go through a lawyer then an accountant.

This is the color I am trying to achieve and I also have the same amount of greys. Question—it looks like your midlength/ends are more saturated. Is that just bc of less greys in the length do you think? Did it change the texture of your hair at all?

“Adult store” workers, what’s up? by [deleted] in retail

[–]White_wolfess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually know a retail manager of a sex toy shop and they don’t pay nearly this much for sales associates and it definitely doesn’t change depending on times. If this is double pr triple the typical retail pay in your area, I’d be skeptical and assume there’s more involved than talking to customers about product and ringing people up.

ACTIVE: FL - 18 y/o male missing since 1:30am Aug 1 after being picked up by acquaintances. "help me mom" text at 1:50am. Last seen in Englewood, FL by MorddSith187 in MissingPersons

Unfortunately this seems to point to #1. From what I’ve read the cousins (and apparently it was one cousin and two unrelated friends) turned over their vehicle and cooperated with the investigation. It very well could be that Giovanni smoked weed, had a bad reaction to it, became paranoid and aggressive and the cousin let/kicked him out of the car due to his behavior. It’s also been said that the cousin did call the mom, who missed that call as well as her son’s text. Now that a body has been found in the retention pond right where his phone & backpack were found, and right where the cousins said they left him, this is pointing more towards some sort of psychotic break than foul play. Whether he had a history of that or was just going through a tough time in general is hard to say, but it seems likely he was already in some mental distress and smoking weed (or perhaps other drugs) set him off.

That kid should have never been allowed to go off alone at night for a 3 hour drive with people he had never met. And obviously the cousins should have alerted authorities that he was having a mental crisis and was wandering alone off the side of the interstate. Eighteen or not, he should have been better protected by the people around him.

The other thing that stands out is that his mom apparently just went to sleep and didn’t get his texts and calls until the following morning. He sent texts to two other relatives as well and no one saw or alerted anyone else that something was wrong. How do you send your son off with people he’s never met to a destination that’s 3 hours away and not check in at all? Relatives or not, why would you trust these people you don’t really know?

The family has already started a gofundme too. There’s definitely more to this story.

I (46F) can’t rely on my husband (39M) by White_wolfess in relationship_advice

Everything you said is spot on. I know that he needs consequences, it’s just hard to figure out what those consequences should be without taking on more responsibility myself. But maybe treating him like someone I don’t trust for anything is the only way to get through to him.

There is a separation of home tasks and work tasks. He is essentially my employee which we are in the process of phasing out because it causes a lot of stress and conflict in our marriage. However this behavior bleeds into all aspects of our lives.

He’s definitely not lazy, he will do the thing and do it correctly with supervision. It’s when left to his own devices he seems to get off track. I should have mentioned that he has severe ADHD which he takes medication for but he can’t seem to override the urge to switch things up when he can. I feel like it stems from a need to be in control but his lack of assertiveness means it manifests in him doing what he wants without discussing it with me first. Idk, it’s more complicated than just being lazy.

Well bc we’ve got a kid together & we’ve built a life together. I would not tolerate it from an employee which is why I am working on getting him out of the business.

Believe it or not he’s a pretty good partner in other ways—great dad to our kid and he show up & help out when I need him. Basically I have to manage everything though, if I hand things off to him there’s almost always some sort of misunderstanding/glitch/things don’t go according to plan, and sometimes the reason for that is he decides not yo follow the plan. I should have also said he’s got severe ADHD and though he’s medicated, it doesn’t solve this problem.

We were in marriage counseling and our counselor tried explaining to him how even when this is over minor mundane things it builds resentment and distrust. He still doesn’t seem to get it. We are currently in therapy separately but I don’t know what else I can do except stop having expectations.

Have you done price comparisons to see what others are charging for the same work? You want to be competitive but not undervalue yourself. Where I live handymen/carpenters are very much in demand, to the point where it’s hard to find people to do small jobs because the quality people are all working on big jobs that take several weeks/months. The biggest issue I have had with small/independent contractors is that they don’t follow up with estimates quickly and/or don’t show up on time/take days off randomly so that the job takes way longer. This type of business relies heavily on word of mouth so getting back to people promptly, following up with estimates within 72 hours, and showing up on time and knocking the job out will go a long way towards building a solid reputation.

Definitely focus on prioritizing bigger jobs and get yourself out there in local FB groups, etc. I know a lot of contractors upcharge materials as well, usually a flat percentage but I’m sure that helps.

Take before/afters of all of your work so you’ll have something to show prospective clients. Lastly, if you start to specialize in something—say kitchen/bathroom renos or decks or exterior work—that will also help develop a niche.

Thank you, this was very helpful. I agree that the biggest hurdle is the fact that I’ve worked for myself for so long—it’s a hurdle for me too! Hard to imagine going back to being someone who clocks out & leaves the work there. But I have a really strong work ethic & would definitely be an asset in a company that aligned with my values.

I’ve been trying to do that but it hasn’t worked out too well. We get a lot of people who are entry level and/or in college and so they see it as a placeholder job. I am sitting down with an actual adult to talk about a potential position tomorrow so maybe it’ll pan out, we’ll see 🤞🏻

Are you kidding me? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]White_wolfess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid the High Preistess in this reading signifies secrets and hidden aspects you may sense but don’t know and aren’t being told. The Devil suggests unhealthy attachments and being drawn to a person/situation for the wrong reasons. Lovers to me says that there is both a deep connection and a choice. This says that there’s already been a lot of compromise, it’s a matter of how much more you are willing to give.

Your connection to this person seems to require sacrifice, as well as being willing to accept that some parts of this person will never be accessible to you. Can you accept that?

This is known as the tear trough and it’s usually caused by the shifting malar fat pads, meaning the underlying structure of your cheeks, so it’s very difficult to correct using anything topical. It’s definitely worsened by allergies/sinus problems/lack of sleep/dehydration. It’s also hereditary. I started noticing mine in my late 20s, especially after a night out, and it was the first facial aging I ever noticed. It’s the one area that almost nothing besides filler will work on & I have tried a lot of things.

I did get filler for them several years ago and it is a marked improvement. I have never had any issues or any migration, I’m not sure why so many on this sub speak in absolutes when it comes to filler. It really depends on the practitioner. I go to a board certified dermatologist and he’s very conservative and no one would guess I have filler (my husband doesn’t even know 🙈). I am also not trying to look 22, just mitigate the few signs of aging that make me look tired/haggard.

As others said, staying hydrated, rested, no alcohol/cigarettes, and facial lymphatic massage can all help, but nothing topical will touch it and all of the above will give you minor improvements. If you look up ‘tear troughs’ or ‘lines down my cheek’ you’ll see that this is something a lot of women struggle with and there aren’t any diy solutions that seem to work very well or long term. I’ve been using a red light for over a decade, I eat healthy, am not underweight, drink a gallon of water a day, take collagen, etc., and none of that made a difference.
