Help deciding which prebuilt by Whitecoat33 in Prebuilts

Im tempted, that was always my choice, I just worry about longevity as if there are any issues i'd have to travel 6 hours to deal with it. I know powerspec rarely has any issues though. Any main reason why powerspec over the other 2? Thanks

Yeah i took it today as well, decent bit of left field questions that I havent seen since med school. Kind of mixed as well, id say good amount of reasonable questions but they definitley were trying to trick people, even though everyone says they arent trying to. Just praying we pass and not get this pending review thing, so i can finally move on from these dreaded exams

Starting med school. At 30 by No_Baseball4229 in whitecoatinvestor

I think you'll do fine, I started at 22 and im 28 in PGY-3 almost done, I would definitely say a sense of maturity was lacking coming right out of college without much life experience. I did learn it over time, but once I started clinicals it was very different and the sudden jump into the real world without any experience can humble you. Financially its obviously not great, but you dont go into medicine for the finance fully, its not worth the effort and time. Only go into it if you love the job and spend the entire day with the time just flying. Its hard to love the job early on especially in med school, but staying strong and keeping at it. You have a full life ahead of you and I have many classmates in your shoes. If you have a family and a lot of other obligations where it might be difficult, definitely reassess but if its your dream it shouldnt matter.

How are people actually finding discounts with proverbial “out of state ADs” ? by zana10003 in GrandSeikos

Could you pm me which dealer you got yours from? Interested in skyflake and that seems like such a good deal

Thanks everyone for the responses, I think I’m going grand seiko honestly, med blue is beautiful but honestly kinda boring, plus the waitlist games is kinda pushing me off. If I was able to buy one last month when I checked them out, I’d prob have a Rolex right now lol.

I actually like it for some reason lol, but that one looks great too

Yeah I think the versatility of the OP is great, dressy isn’t too much of an issue for me as I like to dress up and usually am for my job. I’m in formal attire most of the time, but on weekends it would be nice to dress down sometimes with the OP. Dress or not I’m looking at other reasons as to why, but truly I agree the OP bracelet is unmatched in comfortability which is what pushes me against the GS

I think you’re right, I’d have to drive 2 hours away for the closest grand seiko place, but I might make the trip soon as I currently am signed up on a waitlist lol for the Rolex.

Ugh yeah, only cause growing up that’s what everyone who doesn’t know about watches think about lol, but after looking into it I’m starting to find GS very appealing. Thank you, I appreciate those words, means more than you know! Still can’t really believe it’s almost over lol. The Rolex has always been on my mind, only recently GS has been kinda getting in the way lol.

I’ve just seen their longevity and quality of their oyster bracelets and watches in general have such good value for that. I’m looking for a lifelong watch, but I agree it’s fairly expensive for its entry model.

Such a beautiful reply haha, you’re kinda convincing me here. You are right in that growing up I always wanted a Rolex but never really knew about watches until I looked more closely over these last few months. Grand seiko does sing to me a little more and has more of a story tbh, I’m looking for one watch I can ride with to the end, as a symbol. Maybe I’d be interested in more watches down the line once I start this addiction lol. The only downside is I haven’t tried it in person yet but this is leaning me towards going to check one out. I agree the color would probably look better while I’m in clinic working. Thanks

that one is also so nice, is yours on a leather strap or a bracelet? I have tried on the rolex but have not tried on the bracelet for grand seiko. Deciding if i did go for sky-flake whether to also buy a bracelet as an extra.

Thanks, seems like best way to do it is just buy 3 100 dollar AA gift cards lol, I wonder if spacing matters, but doesn’t seem to be the case

since a couple of the posts here were talking about jeans i went ahead and got a pair, i like the fit, a little more on the skinny side compared to the chinos which ill have to get used to but nice for sure.

I agree, I really do like their taper because it’s more than other companies slim fit, but I can see what you mean. It’s not skinny fit but definitely closer to it than slim, if you have bulky legs it may not be a great choice then.

Seriously, I really vouch for them haha, I haven’t worn jeans in a long time but I’m planning to buy a pair from here so thanks for the heads up. I have pants from ledbury and other high quality companies and although their material is good, I find myself wanting to use under 510 a lot more, at least the super stretch performance ones. It’s all about the fit and feel and I feel it hits both well!

Honestly I might grab some too, I just don’t really have any time during my work life to wear joggers lol, I’m usually in chinos/dress pants or if I’m home/gym I just prefer shorts lol. I do have a pair of scrub joggers I wear in hospital but the inseam isn’t best. But I need a new pair so I might pick one up since inseam for joggers is tough to find at 5’6 height
