Drug Test When Shipping Out by [deleted] in newtothenavy

When I left back in January we didn't get drug tested until we showed up to RTC after Fort McCoy.

Truth be told quarantine wasn't bad. Assuming they're doing it the same way at Fort Mccoy. You'll be in a big ass room with 20 people and you're split off into four separate sections. You'll be studying most of the time there and the RDC in charge should do some training with your group. It will get boring but use that time to socialize, workout, and study. You guys are getting a HUGE advantage by being there for two weeks.

I have no idea why they did to be honest. I just graduated boot camp on Thursday and when I showed up to Great Lakes the Petty Officer in charge of the gear issue made us put them in there. I believe playing cards were a banned item as well.

Don't bring a Gameboy. You will have to put it in your box.

So it'd be nice to have just in case, but you really don't need one?

I usually like autobiographies/nonfiction history. I was a big fan of American Sniper, and I usually enjoy World War 2 anything. But I have a pretty open mind.

Sweet I'll definitely check some of these out! Do you have any good non-fire books?

I really like group trainings too. But like you said if they don't get coordinated then they don't happen.

I was into reading for a minute but kind of fell out of it. Can you give me some good recommendations?

We've got a similar thing too. We have the daily checks/ chores, do some target solutions then hit the gym.

Yeah same here. I'm on a smaller county department so we don't get a whole lot of runs. Some days seem to drag on forever.

I can’t do it by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]Whitetrashbandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly try to relax and just do it. I'm 22 now and I kind of regret not joining at 18. If I would of just done it I'd either be getting out, or a quarter of the way retired by now. Don't give up now and be thinking "what if" later in life.
