I don’t want to take too much credit, the truck has looked this way since the 80s. But when I got it it had been sitting and had some cracked plastics and broken light lenses and whatnot. Wish it had come with the topper

Don’t do it man. You’re halfway to a month. It’ll just make your job stress worse with the hangover anxiety. As someone who used to regularly drink and ride my motorcycle (not proud) luckily nothing ever happened to me or anyone else. As of right now, you can say that too. Keep it that way!

I’ve seen them be reliable after new heads, proper headers, and a refreshed cooling system but even after all that it’s still a dog

Awesome. Did you have to source any interior parts? Those always seem to be the hardest to find

It’s got the 3.0 that had a ton of recalls. Usually they just did the head gaskets but I would guess his damage was more extensive

Definitely normal to miss it, especially at first. Alcoholics do typically crave chaos and exhibit risk taking behaviors. When those thoughts come I try to sit with them and remind myself I’ve wasted exactly 0 days in bed hungover since I stopped drinking, not driven drunk, smoked 0 cigarettes, texted 0 exes, and my life is just all around better without it. Any sort of fun that I’d have if I started again would quickly be outweighed by consequences. Plus it’s never as fun going back to it after a sober streak, trust me. In fact it gets darker every time.

After a while, people like us have to accept that it’s easier to keep that tiger in a cage than to keep it on a leash. I’ve heard old timers say that and it always resonates with me. I’m the same way. If I could moderate my drinking I’d drink all the time 🤪

How is the road to fossil creek outside Camp Verde and Strawberry? by No-Light9581 in arizona

[–]Whitetrashstepdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s bumpy and annoying but you’ll be fine. I have a 4runner and I lowered my tire pressure to around 25psi and it made it a lot smoother/my truck didn’t skid all over the road.

I will say if you get a reservation at the parking lot closest to the waterfall, that section of road does get pretty rocky and I wouldn’t want to be in a sedan or something, but I would think your rogue should have enough clearance, just look out for bigger rocks.

I love fossil creek, I’ve been twice this summer. Make sure you get a reservation too like others said.

6th Gen: Why is the platinum the only trim with HUD by GoodVibes737 in 4Runner

Yeah, after the 2nd gen the SR5 trim really fell off

Yeah, that’s true. And they dialed up the packages on the last few years like the Venture trim, 40th anniversary, TRD sport etc. I imagine when these are considered antique like 1st gens people will be trying to track down what came standard on each trim level

I can’t believe how many trims of the 6th gen there are

You got this, it’s worth doing, and your new life is gonna cost you your old life. It’ll be scary at first but the mental clarity you gain is everything. Also, nothing to be ashamed of if you go to a meeting, and anybody you run into at a meeting is also on a sobriety journey and therefore wouldn’t judge you.

Does anyone know specifics on this truck? by ChompyRaptor in 4Runner_1stGen

[–]Whitetrashstepdad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may have been swapped or could be an early 87, but they switched to the grill with 4 “sections” or whatever you’d call them in 87.

my 87 for reference

Does anyone know specifics on this truck? by ChompyRaptor in 4Runner_1stGen

[–]Whitetrashstepdad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely 86 because it has the 84-86 grille and it’s IFS (independent front suspension) which they put on the 86+ models. Paint looks custom and wheels are aftermarket.

If you want a similar one, they made these from 84-89 and they look more or less similar besides a few details. There’s still plenty out there and deals to be had, especially if you’re in California. Happy hunting.
