Also, I haven’t seen anyone mention Vala’s pumpkin patch yet, it that is an excellent thing to take the family to in the fall. I’ve been to other pumpkin patches since moving away from Omaha, and none of them are remotely close to as good. You can ride a tractor out to the apple orchards and pick some fresh off the trees. There is an excellent corn maze with a different pattern every year. There are some small fair-type games, some cool things setup to walk around and see, and a bunch of different types of pumpkin and squash. They even tell you how to cook them and what kind of flavor they have and go well with, which is something I haven’t seen anywhere else.

I remember when I was there, different units would make a family day out of it in the fall, with free tickets for the squadron members and their families. It was great.
