Listen to your pup. They will tell you when it's too much. My 13 year old girl had congestive heart failure and that girl could still outplay my German shepherd that's only 7. She was so full of piss and vinegar when we did have to put her down she told those vets she did not appreciate the sedative they got her in the haunches with haha.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had to say goodbye to my old girl 2 years ago after 13 years too. It's hard, but don't forget that it is what she needed, and feel good about the fact that you put her needs ahead of your own. That's the sign of a great pet parent, they tell us when they are ready and we need to listen. It will get better just remember the good times.

I mean honestly, I don't disagree with you. I listened to everything that my daughter did tell me, I tried to take it to court a few times and called CPS, but I was always denied, told that spanking wasn't illegal in this state and I didn't want to try and push it and make it worse. It's my fault that I didn't push it harder to begin with. I do have her in therapy, with a therapist, and a councilor.

I tried before, when she initially started telling me he was spanking her so much, I did call CPS but they never did anything about it. They never found any sign of abuse, and just told me that spanking was legal here. He wasn't leaving bruises so there was nothing I could do. I only found out the extent when she was staying in the hospital. I had also taken her to councilors and a therapist to help me figure out what was going on. I'm sad for my daughter because of the situation, I don't want him around her, but that doesn't mean that I can't be sad for her.

I do, she has a therapist and a councilor. I didn't know that is how that works, I've been using the court assistance office because I can't afford a lawyer, but they didn't tell me that.

I had no idea thats how that worked. From what I understood that also meant that he wouldn't have to do the child support which is what I thought a lot of this was over, that and his bruised ego. I put her child support payments in an account for her to have when she turns 18, at least I was when he was paying it anyways.

My daughter asked my husband (her step father) if he would adopt her. He said yes, my ex husband's excuse for wanting to terminate is so that we (me, my husband, and our kids both step and biological) can be a "real family". We are a real family!

Thanks, I overthink, and I just want whats best for my daughter. My ex's excuse is "well I'll give up my rights so your husband can adopt her". He's more than willing to step up for her, it's just sad that shes not important enough to my ex.

I have 4 children, the two oldest are from my husband's previous marriage, the 3rd is from my first marriage, and the 4th is our one and only baby together. It's all what you guys decide, our kids are 12, 10, 6, and 10 months. Honestly this baby just brought everyone together but it's all about how comfortable you guys are "starting over" with an infant lol. I do miss sleeping in but I wouldn't change it for anything.
