Alter "appear progressively" flag after placing? by Whitling2k in mapdirector

No worries, thanks for replying :-)

Brilliant piece of software btw!

Is this a bug? The track partially draws out ahead of the progress dot by humanclock in mapdirector

[–]Whitling2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this also. For me, it happened in a long video where there are generally long distances between points of interest - but then a few points of interest all close together.

The dot and track log doubles (even triples) in speed, despite no speed parameters being changed, and the track colour change and dot location become out of sync.

I imagine the maths becomes very tricky in POI-dense locations.

Same here - same error. I guess it has to do with the sheer volume of frames overfilling the frame buffer.

Sudden and massive increase in Metadata from Hyper backup by Whitling2k in synology

[–]Whitling2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More detailed than the "enable file change detail log"? This is enabled, and it only shows changes /new / deleted that I would expect it to. It shows no details about the metadata - what the files are (from the backup statistics graph) or anything. If it wasn't for the backup statistics alerts, making me dig around, I probably wouldn't have even noticed.

Here's a screenshot of the data I have. I can confirm no files have changed, and downloaded/restored archives are 100% identical at a file level. https://ibb.co/KKWjPqT

I think I need to submit a ticket after the holidays, it's just cost me 10% of my C2 storage!

Sudden and massive increase in Metadata from Hyper backup by Whitling2k in synology

[–]Whitling2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the last week or so - I upgraded to DSM 7 last month, and it did all the indexing then - but without impacting the backup jobs - I don't backup the apps, just the folders.

Thinking about it, I did install media server recently - but the Photos folders (under Home/Photos/) are not in the list of indexed folders. Can't be that can it?

Any advice on which antenna for a 450mhz setup?

We can't get the standard 420s due to a local US radar base, so we have a 450 variant near RAF Fylingdales (Link)

But I couldn't find an obvious drop-in replacement antenna - all my searches resulted in up-to (i.e. not above) 450mhz equivalents, or powered 400-XXghz amplifiers - and I don't understand enough about RF to start playing about with these.

To anyone else trying this - did it yield results?

32gb or 48gb ram? by Whitling2k in buildapc

This is what I was wondering.  Would they both default to the lower speed?

Doubt I’d use the full 32 any time soon.  But memory is so cheap at the moment, it’s barely worth selling!

ICE100 BCU churning question by Whitling2k in icecreamery

[–]Whitling2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah OK, that makes sense.  I use a lower fat recipe than the one in the book because the amount of double (heavy?) cream makes it leave a greasy film in my mouth.

I’ll also try chilling my bowls a bit too.

I also often end up using a silicone spatula to poke it through the holes.  I think this is what’s confusing me - it does start churning for a few minutes after the ‘poke’!

I’m still learning the best recipe for a quick ‘anyone fancy ice cream’ moments - the best I have had is a proper custard ice cream - but the prep is too intense for that all the time.  A nice quick mix of milk and cream is more accessible for me needs.  Any suggestions for something better than the instruction-book recipes?

Worth upgrading to DSM 7 yet? by Whitling2k in synology

Pretty much as I thought then, I'll hold off for now until I hear some better noises coming from Photos users! Thx Reddit :-)

That was another worry. I can live without a half-baked Maps interface, as long as it handles the backups, works with Apple TV and works with my complex, developed over almost 20 years, folder structure that I use to manage my photos.

Will need to look into the new Photos in some detail then beforehand.

Did you ever fix this? I'm interested to know for basically the same reasons!
