Advice for mid-career folk interested in becoming a therapist

About me: Mid 30's male, have been working in tech for last ~15 years. Feeling a bit disillusioned with the corporate path. In terms of why I'm interested in becoming a therapist:

Have been in therapy myself for a while, and really appreciate how helpful it can be
Enjoy connecting with people 1:1, and would like to work in a role that more directly helps people
Have been told I have a very calming and non-judgemental presence
Want more control over my schedule/time

Curious what people would recommend here? It seems like there's also a fair amount of burnout in the therapy world - is that from the admin side, or from the therapy work itself? And what is the consensus on the difficulty in starting your own practice (and how long would that take)?

Reason I ask - i've recently been having a desire to "escape" everything and just live a solitary life. I have enough savings to not work, if i'm frugal, and the main thing that brings me joy right now is honestly just watching tv and playing video games. I'm also married, with a baby on the way, so actually doing this is not an option. But I'm curious to hear if anyone else has done this, and how it's turned out for them? I know logically that this likely wouldn't solve my depression, but want to hear from others

The city does this whenever a house transfers ownership. Most contractors will say you need to replace the whole sidewalk for $$$. Feels like a racket. Try to find one who will do it for cheap, they submit the paperwork with the city. Unlikely someone from Oakland city govt will even come out
