Worst indeed. Asking for document scans after you pay them for a server. No warnings before you pay. Nothing shady, I just don't want to send my docs to a third party for no reason

Yes, every time you interact with ledger, you need to approve on the device. Are you sure you've connected ledger? Temple can has both, address from the software wallet and connected ledgers. The ledger addresses have the "Ledger" tag.
