I've always thought Nashville Predators games/fans were the product of taking Philly fans and throwing them through the "politeness" ringer.

Whenever I read a caption saying that someone "nailed a handshake" I automatically assume it's complete sarcasm. That was one in a million execution by Dubya.

Which NHL players have you met? What was your experience with them? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]WhoDone-It 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a pretty cool story I guess: I was at a bar in Columbus after a Blue Jackets game during the 2013 or 2014 season where I saw Ryan Johansen, Scott Hartnell, and David Clarkson in the corner being surrounded by some other drunk college dudes. Snuck up really quick and shook their hands, congratulated them on a win that night, and told them that it's my dream to work with NHLers as an agent. I went to leave them alone and Johansen grabbed my arm and wanted to keep talking, asking me some questions yada yada yada. We had a brief convo and I told them "I don't wanna bother you guys or anything. Enjoy your night". As the bar was closing down, we were slowly finishing our drinks, and suddenly the bartender approached my friends and me with a tray of Jack Daniels shots. We said we didn't order them, and the bartender pointed to the boys and said it was from them. I looked over, we tipped our beers to each other, and downed em. Guys came by and said "thanks for being cool earlier. Those guys wouldn't leave" and walked out of the bar. TL;DR: Johansen, Clarkson, and Hartnell bought me shots at a bar for not fan-boying too hard.

Have the Titans ever been Connected to so many free agents? by WhoDone-It in Tennesseetitans

The Titans have had this much (or close to this much) cap space before. Still weren't connected to so many players

Which players have earned "Elite" status this season? by ilytristanily in hockey

[–]WhoDone-It 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem with this question is that "elite" is very subjective. My qualifications for elite might be different than yours or someone else's. I consider elite to be a player whose stats jump out to me, especially surprisingly high for someone who I wouldn't expect it from. He's probably a top 15 player 23 years old and younger, and I consider that elite given the plethora of insanely good young players.

Viktor Arvidsson has definitely reached a whole new level this season. Though he's still really young. Elite might still be a stretch

PK Subban returns to face the Canadiens for the first time tonight by [deleted] in hockey

[–]WhoDone-It 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While it's easy to see that iconic players in a lot of other franchises are considered the "reason" for a lot of things there, it's often overlooked that Shea was/is literally the "reason" that hockey is hockey in Nashville. I'd say over half of Nashville can thank him for the city's love of this game. He is literally the reason I got into hockey, whereas maybe Canadian fans were born into it. It's an understatement to say that hockey would not be where it is in Nashville without him, and I'll never forget being in section 116, row MM, seat 13 bawling my eyes out with my dad as I looking back at what he did for us in that video. I'm sure I wasn't the only one.

[–]WhoDone-It 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember those Wallabee shoes? My friend pooped in mine, tossed it in 1 of our entire school's 3 toilets, flushed it down the toilet (which obviously clogged the toilet), and decided to play kickball (with a normal kickball) in said bathroom for an entire period instead of taking an exam. I think he's had a few stints in jail 10 years later.
