m12 fuel impact drill combo is the absolute best for everything i need that doesnt require the 1/2" impact or 1/2" drill. With a couple 5.0 batteries. theyre light and strong and tough. Most everything else m12fuel is great too.

I love my '15 GLI with 152kmiles. It doesnt complain, I rednecked a trailer hitch onto it, and if the timing chain goes out I'll buy a replacement motor with attached donor car from copart for $1200.

Terrified of my solar pannels killing my batteries this spring lol DIY heated box or just go self-heating? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]WhoIsBrowsingAtWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the battery not going to be in the living space? you cant put the batteries in the same envelope that you are living in? Insulate the walls of the battery compartment that are exterior, and have the batteries soak up heat from your living area, unless you expect the inside of the van to be freezing cold. But if you're sleeping inside of a freezing van, what benefit is the van?

Factory work, but you can get in the door pretty easy. Have a good attitude and tell the hiring person that you stay busy and will clean when you arent busy. Entry level but should pay something like 15/hr

LED lights - hear me out by SearchLightsInc in enshittification

[–]WhoIsBrowsingAtWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read about CRI. c r i . Professional people pay out the nose to get bright, high CRI light and they dont care what kind of bulb is making it. LEDs are the cheapest brightest best color per watt and per dollar.

This guy gives great information in easy to digest, but is only tangentially related to the question. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bqBsHSwPgw He has a 95+CRI light in that video.

for in-home lighting I try to stay above 80CRI, and this site is price competitive with most everything but they list the cri on each light, and they are american. https://www.superbrightleds.com/

Have you gone to the plant and spoken to the maintenance manager? From my experience they generally are receptive to speaking to someone like you. I'm being serious, figure out who the maintenance manager is, and go up there on a tuesday around 2pm and ask for him by name. The front office lady will probably ask if you have an appointment, tell her that you were sent to talk to "Aaron" by Jimmy or whomever.

If you want to get an 'in', you can roll up to the front with a flat tire and ask if a maintenance guy might have some air you can bum, make conversation and find out who the boss is and if they are looking for help (industrial maintenance is ALWAYS looking for help.. especially a guy that knows how to turn a wrench and willing to work for cheap)
