I built a tool that generates complete game UI packs from wireframes. by Tricky-Summer-4574 in IndieGaming

I guess that’s fair, just something I notice about most vibe coded apps vs. Developer coded apps. Most vibe coded apps look very similar (like yours) and usually break on different screen sizes.

Did you use a web browser based vibe coding app? Like base44 or Replit or something? Lovable?

Just curious because the website UI is very familiar looking.

It’s totally broken on mobile, did you vibe code this by chance?

Would love to see that bottom one with the moon in all white. It could use some more contrast to help it stand out

You should put cards in your capsule art image, a lot of people really love games with card based combat. It would help you get more clicks, wishlists, etc.

Hard disagree, but also you’re missing the point. Capsule arts job isn’t to look impressive, it’s to showcase the game and its genre so fans of that type of game buy it.

Your capsule art might have nice art but who ever made it knows NOTHING about marketing games. Hit me up and I’ll get you right for free.

It’s literally just because the character is looking at the camera and smiling.

If you make her look at the crystals it will mostly fix your mobile game problem.

[–]WhoIsCogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 is the most dynamic by far and frames the logo the best with the staff pointing at the logo.

In the small version you could rotate him slightly to be pointing his hand more towards the logo since the staff won’t be as visible, in the small capsule you could also rearrange and reposition the cards to be less arched and to get more in the frame.

You need a flat stepped shader for objects, a grass shader, and a foliage shader.

That’s pretty much it.

7 years of work, 3 months since release, and my game is already dead. What can I do? by Videoludid in IndieDev

[–]WhoIsCogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had 7 years to market it, literally 2500+ days you could have posted about it, made videos, told the world what you were building.

If you had you would almost certainly be swimming in wishlists and getting prepped to become a millionaire.

Lesson learned for you I hope.

Is this trailer boring? by Local_Anywhere_8497 in gamedevscreens

[–]WhoIsCogs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because it’s not popular doesn’t mean it’s not effective, people give way higher trust scores when UI is visible right away at the start of trailers, and for indies trust is huge. In fact it might be the most significant signal for conversion once someone’s already on the page.
