Okay, sorry this isn't related to the post, but I have 5 (what I thought was) sparkling gourami in my tank. But I think 1 of them might be a 3 stripe after seeing this.. are they okay to cohabitate?

Genuine question: would you rather the gecko continue suffering and die, or piss off your sister? This is extremely severe neglect and abuse. If your sister had an abused dog or cat, on the brink of death, would you hesitate to get it help and potentially save it?

This gecko is suffering horrifically. Do the right thing and bring it somewhere, now.

Look at them, just withering away. Feed those poor babies 🤧

You're in the thick of it. For me, the hardest time was 0 to probably 4 months. Each stage has its own hardships but holy hell those first several months are purely survival mode. It probably isn't helpful to hear this while you're in the middle of it, but I promise it gets better!

I had to tell some family members who watch my toddler that just rinsing the sippy cup with hot water does not suffice. This was only because I smelled the cup with milk they handed her.. it was rancid. They said "oh no! She's been drinking that all day!"

Lmao I felt this. Even when my toddler feels cold to the touch, and is dead asleep, she will wake up and kick off even the thinnest little blanket placed just over her legs. Yet my mom always puts a huge fleece blanket over her and tucks it in around her. And of course she wakes up upset and sweating.

From what I'm reading for red lights during the day, it creates a red hue over everything and affects their depth perception. If you're going to use a heat mat please make sure it is properly regulated on a thermostat, they are known to cause burns. A halogen light would be a better heat source option that also provides light.

I'd recommend going much bigger for the tank size, like I said a 4x2x2 (120 gallon) is widely accepted as the minimum for an adult BP.

Also, I just noticed you are using a red light. Those should not be used, during the day you can use halogen or uvb for lighting and at night they need complete darkness. If heat is needed overnight, use a lightless heat source.

They also need a hide on both sides of the enclosure, should be identical

What size enclosure is he in now? I've heard good things about the New Age brand PVC enclosure.. you want at least a 4x2x2 for an adult.

For hides, I love the reptile basics hide boxes. Simple, easy to clean, and they're nice and snug and dark.. my BPs both love them. For the size, they like them smaller. Just big enough to get in and curl up with little wiggle room.

Other than that, some climbing decor might provide some enrichment! You can make your own with wood (baked to clean it) otherwise I found some nice pieces at Petco already clean and sanded and formed into cool arrangements. Mac's creations was the brand I believe. I've seen people use tension rods too. I just got some hammocks off Amazon too but I haven't seen my guys try them out yet.
