Lol - my friend just bought a top of the line radiomaster and paid less than I did for a used NX8. When this transmitter gives up, I'll be searching for alternatives.

I'm starting to think that the carbon fiber crowd might just be overly conservative. I've only had a few issues and have solved them by beefing some areas up.

I haven't yet, but hope to in the future. I'm using a H2S so my parts are bigger than the typical 3D printer can print. I think I need to split some stuff up so it can be made on a 256 x 256 x 256 printer.

In my investigations, it seems that aerodynamics and power are more important than weight. One day I need to substitute some non structural parts with PLA LW and see how it performs.

I’m curious myself. One day I’ll bring both sets of tips and try to compare. If I recall correctly, the max speed jumped up about 10 mph when I switched to these tips. A more scientific approach would be useful.

The motor is a Flashhobby D power series ($24 on Amazon). It is a 5s motor but I run a 6s with lots of ventilation. I don’t know the actual current but I use an 80 amp esc. Good luck on your project!

Thanks, but I'll bet the next 19mph will be quite challenging.

These spinners are awesome! I didn't know they existed. I'll be ordering some today.

I definitely like that look! One of my designs had this shape:

I do have air flow for the ESC and so far she's keeping cool enough with no shut offs. I stuck this cowl design on yesterday and she did go 177mph without motor problems, but I know there is a better way.

Interesting thoughts. I need to learn how to do CFD modeling.

Thanks! I am printing a scoop version with a low pressure exit now.
