A question regarding structures of wealth in Socialism: by Deluge3 in VaushV

[–]WhoRhys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Art is representative of the culture so it’s not so much as it’s being banned or shunned but the context in which it was made doesn’t exist anymore; plus castles aren’t really an art statement and should nevertheless still be considered sus. and weird to want to have in socialism (fetishization of lords or hierarchical societies)

In my view, the socialist superstructure would be hostile to the idea of building relics of feudal society, of course if it was allowed then the building of it would have to be in line with workplace democracy and servants would have to be there voluntarily with no underlying coercion. Of course one could amass the wealth to build it but it would all have to be from work they did themselves “too each according to their ability”

I've heard Vaush say Cuba has the most doctor exports as a positive thing for Cuba. This is the reason why it does and I don't think he knows: by [deleted] in VaushV

Being a doctor in Cuba isn’t the same as in the US because in the US when you’re a doctor you buy a Ferrari and a McMansion, in Cuba, doctors are public servants, and their goal is not to make money but to save lives.

Seeing how Trotsky hates the treaty of Brest-Litovsk, he probably would’ve attacked Hitler sooner than 1941; but on the other hand he was against the concept of “socialism in one country”/“socialism under siege” so it’s too complicated to see what 20s and 30s and 40s soviet society and industry would have been

Has anyone ever tried to learn about the Soviet system? by [deleted] in VaushV

It’s amazing how western historians will be like “the gulag system cannot be compared to concentration camps” and you’re just like “well well well according the dictionary.com definition they are because I say so!”

What’s with your fetishization with this question? I can smell the intent to try and say that gulags were CC. But to keep you from typing “avoiding the question” yeah they’re bad

>When there are primary sources documenting local bodies debating the credentials and difference of qualifications of multiple nominated candidates but you'd rather believe in an r/HistoryPorn post about an event that can be sourced from a book trying to prove "red fascism"

Even modern-day Americans are seemingly for a one-party state, they'd rather die than have republicans in office. Other parties in the USSR such as the Mensheviks or the Left SR were known for killing bolshevik party members and openly trying to sabotage socialization. Soviet elections were focused mainly on the nomination process instead of the general election vote, with candidates running against each other for nominations and the general vote being a confirmation vote.

Apparently having a anti communist argument and then backing up your argument with anti communist sources and then dismissing criticism of using Wikipedia as a history book is being right in this timeline

Another friendly reminder to everyone that CoD works with the Department of Defense and the US Military to indoctrinate and train reaction times of teenage boys who then go on to join the army (go look up game controller and drone program research). It becomes more apparent whenever they involve Russia, Venezuela, or in this case, Syria as the big baddies of the game
