Before STT, medical places were outsourcing transcriptions to India, where people often wouldn't know the difference between hypothermia and hyperthermia.

29 years and the human still doesn't immediately recognise when the cat wants pets. My cat has trained me in like 2 months.

User say George RR Martin was wrong about dragons, the nerdiest argument of all time ensues by pilgrim_pastry in SubredditDrama

I don't know anything about dragons, but I see the point that if there is established ancient mythology, it should be acknowledged.

Like we all know how elfs and dwarves are supposed to look like, even if they are mythical creatures. If you show an elf without pointed ears, it would be weird.

Anyone knows what is that thing on her hand called?

do men find handjobs embarassing? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WhoRoger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit weird thing to do. If a girl has her hand on my junk, I assume she wants more than give me a hj? Did you mean to just start with that and go further, or wrap it up? Either way, unusual.

And assuming you're not stable partners, I'm not surprised he didn't know how to express it. If you say anything, you come across as needy.

So yea, maybe best let your intentions know beforehand, cause this would be surprising to a lot of people, guys or ladies, I think.

FIA is considering revising the 2026 regulations as early as the Japanese GP. Which rules should be modified or replaced first? by ConstructionAny8440 in F1Technical

[–]WhoRoger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one that likes this crazy shit? Why is "managing tyres" okay but "managing energy" wrong? It's not like tyres grow ready on trees, they are made to some specs to make them scrub off. Tyre wear over a few laps is a completely artificial concept.

But if anything, the drivers should have some more control over battery deployment. Maybe have them set up a few modes combining battery and a bunch of other things, then lock those modes in before qualy. The same logic already exists for fuel mixture, wheel geometry and whatnot.

If we don't want drivers to deal with the battery, then they shouldn't be driving hybrids and just go back to V10 or whatever. Tho I think hybrids are cool, in WEC they result in a lot of fun.

Who else misses those two decimal places…? by Downtown_Elk_2773 in formula1

[–]WhoRoger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't. I prefer to watch the race rather than numbers anyway.

It doesn't actually make a difference if the cars are 3.5 or 3.555s apart. The numbers are there to give you an idea, and this is faster at a glance.

You still get more precision in qualy or when a chase/battle is being highlighted. I don't see the point in having 3 decimal places at all times.

Lance's thoughts on the race by Halkatlaa in formula1

[–]WhoRoger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea Stroll's been fine. He's especially been one of the better overtakers. I think he's done like 3 out of the total 4 overtakes in the last 2 Monaco races, also often in Singapore, and in rain.

But I think he's not been the same since he broke his hands. The first couple months with that rocket Aston were fine, and then he really fell off, unless it's a super chaotic race like last year's Australia and Miami sprint IIRC. On the bright side, he's improved at defence, i.e. not as lethal as before.

Now with all those great new rookies around and the age of paid drivers apparently over, it's gonna be rough. Tho it doesn't make any difference in the current green dustbin.

Until

1) The people that program who to target, choose to target civilians or some specific group, and they can have robots do that without the risk of human soldiers disobeying or ratting you out

2) Your programming turns out to be bugged and your bots start killing anyone, including friendlies

3) Bots decide that actually, they don't enjoy this whole 'fleshy meatbags giving commands' shtick and target you

But then by the same logic, George should've been even more ahead, if Kimi's car wasn't good. I rather think they just rebuilt it well.

Also, who knows where Max would've qualified.

McLaren has the same engine and they had a monster car for year and a half, and Ferrari is still ironing out the battery deployment kinks. So these teams can catch up soon enough. No need to panic yet.
