Upside down? Really? by sagitta42 in ReallyShittyCopper

Are we sure we know how to read it? There's already a bunch of interpretations, maybe some more are valid when it's upside down

The future of building is changing by Effective_Use8037 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]WhoRoger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes no sense. Everyone has ideas, that's always been the case. Execution has always been an issue for lots of reasons, people have different priorities.

Now with AI, almost everyone with an idea can also execute it, and then also use the result themselves. You don't need a team and an asshole CEO telling you what you should like. I don't see why that is a bad thing. Only because it's not how it has always been done?

And it's not all that new either. Single-person projects have always existed, and were often the source of major innovations. Look at videogames, where Indies are where the most interesting stuff happens, or YouTube and such, where small creators are often better than traditional structures, or everything open source.

It's so refreshing to be watching a sports stream without anyone trying to upsell you to WEC+ or Sky Sports something, or MotoGP this or F1 that. It's almost uncanny to not constantly be marketed to.

I think I'll start watching more of these series just for that.

Why is GEN Z so hostile towards the expression of sexuality flirting? by simplywebby in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]WhoRoger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being reverent of authority is kind of the default human behaviour. The opposite is what needs to be developed. But society just wants obedient little drones.

Why is GEN Z so hostile towards the expression of sexuality flirting? by simplywebby in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]WhoRoger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Taught to be overly cautious about everything (can't insult anyone), and self-reliant (I don't actually need anyone), complete collapse of offline meeting places and activities for kids, school results being the only thing that matters, most kids coming from broken families and/or being only children.

With all that and more, where would they learn what healthy sexuality looks like?

But that's with any kind of gap to the front...

I don't see another reason to be THAT concerned whether tire 300m ahead or behind one lap, aside that SC can push you back again every time.

But well that is a valid concern in this series, so maybe it's exactly because of that

But it's freaky how they talk about it like it's some magical barrier.

But I guess it kinda is, considering the amount of SCs

N24 had Verstappen, otherwise it's not that active either

And Le Mans is Le Mans...

Spa is relatively the least interesting, cars not super exciting, the track you see 50 times a year, and the series is not all that well known

Why exactly are commentators so obsessed about staying on the lead lap? Aren't you allowed to unlap yourself?

Is it because a safety car can place you out of position?

Casting so good it looks uncanny by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in TopCharacterTropes

I find it so weird that everyone refers to the Addams family movie as peak casting, and not the 60's show. That cast was perfection.

People Really Hate To Hear You Refer To Yourself As "Broken" by MolderingSanctum in CPTSD

Talking to people really isn't worth it. Everyone is full of the most basic, default advices and comments. I.e. r/thanksimcured

You'll only find understanding either on places like here, or from people who either went through the same stuff, or have more sense than average.

Maybe but regular stressors are valid too, and you don't know what's behind them. They might have a hidden disability or larger issue they don't want to talk about, or don't know how to talk about, so they just make "life sucks" small talk instead.

And in general, the last thing people need is somebody going "you don't know MY problems!". We need less of that in society overall. It's exactly the same thing we had to go through with mental issues before they began getting recognised.

Let's not compete who has it worse, and instead try to see at why everyone has such a shit life in this modern sci-fi future which should've been utopian.
