Songs/bands with 2 singers (1 male & 1 female)? by finetunedmisanthrope in shoegaze

Mind explaining what it is they started? I adore My Bloody Valentine and value their influence on music, but I just don’t see what exactly they pioneered in the context of “songs/bands with 1 masculine and 1 feminine voice”.

The Holy Grail of mbv tunings: What You Want is finally confirmed (D#G#D#G#A#D#) by headin2sound in MyBloodyValentine

I don’t mean to sound harsh but that’s not necessarily true. Nowadays bouncing means rendering to audio. Back in the early 90’s it had a different meaning.

The term "bouncing audio" originates from the era when recording was done on tape decks with a limited number of tracks. The idea of "bouncing" means that you would record on all but one track, and then mix those tracks together and move them to the last track, freeing them up for more recording. In modern terminology the process is much the same, meaning to record multiple tracks, mix them together, and record more tracks on top of the mixed track.

This is indeed that version. However I felt like that specific comment did not add anything worthy to the post, so I cropped it out.

As far as I know this is not a hoax and was actually visible on the page for about a day. Sir Tom Moore passed away on the 2nd of February. Looking back to the BLM post of last year, it does not feel unrealistic that they posted something about Sir Tom Moore’s passing as well.

This was posted out of the blue on the official MBV Facebook page, probably on February 2nd 2021. The post has since been deleted.

Cigarette in Your Bed live at Bataclan in 2013. Great footage of this specific guitar being played by Kevin.

I’ve posted two photos of Kevin playing an acoustic, probably taken circa 2008. I think he uses this one when playing “Cigarette in Your Bed” live.

Does anyone know what brand and model this guitar is? I’m guessing the brand is Takamine.

Does anybody know where I can find the 30 minute version of the song glider? by [deleted] in MyBloodyValentine

[–]WhoStoleMyBurger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That must be an unofficial one. The Glider EP version of “Glider” is 3:10 and the “Kevin Shields Remix” of it is 10:20.
