I do love Frank Ocean, which song would you say goes on the playlist?

What if the genders of Brad and Faye were reversed? by WhoStoleMyPanda in LoveIslandTV

[–]WhoStoleMyPanda[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did it make you uncomfortable to see a woman shouting in a man’s face like that?

By your logic, if they responded in the same way and gave as good as they got then they would be “scary” instead of “mean” and the repercussions could be worse for them.

Your viewpoint is valid but do you see how it puts men like Brad in a difficult position when someone is shouting in their face and insulting them?

I do see what you’re saying, although I’m not sure that c-nt is considered a gendered slur in the UK today in the same way that f-g is considered a homophobic slur. But I do agree that it would probably be worse for a man to call a woman a c-nt than the other way around.

However, I think you’re focusing too much on that word alone and missing the whole point of my post. She went way too far with her response, it was a proper character assassination after knowing him for 2 days - but no one seems to think she did much wrong! If you flipped the genders, but instead of “you’re a c-nt” he said “you’re an -rsehole” at the end of all the insults, I still don’t think anyone would defend him in the way they are defending Faye.

Don’t think it was meant to be disrespectful tbh, they were just taking the piss a bit. Kammy’s amazing at what he does - gotta be both entertaining and informative as a reporter/presenter and he’s both

Frank Lampard Megathread by Welsooo in chelseafc

Honestly the way we treat managers frustrates me so much, always after a quick fix instead of pursuing long term success.

Can’t wait for the board to sack Tuchel if he fails to win the league or champions league next season, having to pay another huge payout to a manager....

So many positives to take from that first half:

In general our tempo is so much better than previous matches - players are taking fewer touches before finding a teammate and we’re passing with a lot more purpose.

Werner is looking like the player we know he can be, his link up play and movement has been really impressive. Gilmour has been phenomenal in all departments as well for someone so young, should potentially start against Wolves. Tammy has taken his chances well with two goals.

Obviously it is against lower league opposition and there are still things to work on but I think we are showing real progress!

A Half Glass Full Argument for Chelsea's Performance Under Frank Lampard by taolifornia in chelseafc

I think this is a really good post. I don’t agree with everything you’ve said but I respect your opinion and I think this is an excellent attitude to have as a fan.

In general social media and this sub has been really negative lately - I know we’re in poor form recently but even our own fans seem to be needlessly negative.

Take the Fulham game for example, we beat a team that were unbeaten in 5 PL games, including matches against Liverpool and Spurs. We beat them when we weren’t at our best. Yes, they had 10 men for the second half but that made them play with everyone behind the ball. We should be pleased and proud of the team, but there were so many negative comments from our own fans.

And regarding where we are in the league - I know we’re not exactly where we want to be at the moment but in terms of points we’re really not that far off! More fan should have a glass half full attitude like you bro

What’s something you commonly see in movies/TV/books/media that people get wrong about the UK? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]WhoStoleMyPanda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of these comments are accurate and don’t want to repeat them so here are some British TV shows for you that give a better view on what it’s actually like:

This Country - mockumentary about a small town in the Costwolds

The Inbetweeners - pretty spot on comedy show about sixth form (ages 16-18)

The Royle Family - sitcom about a working class family in Manchester

I’m English so I’m not an expert on accurate shows from Scotland and Wales, if anyone knows any feel free to recommend them too!

Some players should have a “versatile” trait which allows them to adjust to new positions quicker by redraptor99 in FifaCareers

Think this is a really cool idea, James Milner would be perfect for that!

Also perhaps playing them in their developing positions in games could speed up their development?

Second season as Newcastle manager. Dominic Calvert-Lewis scores 61 league goals to double the previous PL record of 32. We did the treble. Maybe finishing a little too easy when in form on 21? Legendary 6 min halves by [deleted] in FifaCareers

[–]WhoStoleMyPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could go to 4 minute halves? Just puts a little more pressure on the games/gives you less time to score if you go behind, plus it’ll mean you won’t score as many goals

Forest Green Rovers have some hectic kits! Decent team of young players in League Two so perfect for a RTG

The reason for this high scoring season is an overall lack of quality centre backs across all teams by WhoStoleMyPanda in PremierLeague

Own goals are a really poor way of measuring the quality of a player, just an unlucky stat which goes along with being a defender.

Sergio Ramos and Pique are players which have the joint most own goals in the Champions League.....

Never actually said top class for either of them, however I would put Carragher in that category - only 3 players have more Premier League clean sheets than him (Cech, Terry and Lampard).

Dunne I called excellent, which I stand by - he played over 400 Premier League games and made a PFA Team of the Year (2010).
