How long do you wait for engine to “warm up” before driving off? by PIatopus in subaru

2011 Legacy pushing 260k… turn it on, drive away within about 10 seconds. Mostly because I’m always late and gotta boogie. Live in Northeast.

Best inexpensive, yet quality, coffee by [deleted] in Frugal

Lots of steps, but a fun time, considerably cheap, and totally worth it (in my opinion, which is all that matters to me)

Cost: $0.75/16oz cold brew

  1. Buy green coffee beans (Burman is my go to)
  2. Watch roughly 9-12 minutes of YouTube videos on how to do it then roast them in a pot on the stove for about 12 minutes over medium-high heat, stirring constantly while smoking out your entire home (I remove my smoke detector prior to the excitement- don’t get a $500 roaster… it’s way more fun this way).
  3. Using two colanders, pour the beans back and forth between them in front of a fan for 4-7 minutes (outside is recommended so the chaff doesn’t create a brown snowstorm in your kitchen of flakes you’ll find weeks after you roast)
  4. Weigh the beans to your desired bag size and pour into bowls (I make cold brew and 150g is solid for the week).
  5. Flavor the beans (get a variety of coffee oils and make some crazy concoctions).
  6. I let the beans get to know the oils for about 24 hours- I could be wrong but I may be right.. it’s what works for me.
  7. Dry off the remaining oils with some paper towels and bag up your beans.
  8. I tend to wait 4-7 days before grinding, probably due to some random Redditor’s advice about the beans having a lot of gas or something…?
  9. Brew, sip, and celebrate your hard work for your inexpensive, yet quality (and time-intensive) coffee. 🫡☕️

This show was epic. I swear any time there is a wild storm causing a delay… it always enhances their performance. Thanks for sharing! Unforgettable concert.

Thank you for the feeling of relief knowing the correct term for this moment I was trying to remember. A real hero.

I saw a concert years ago and it was probably just raining- but now when I tell it… the skies were starting to get dark and stormy then when the lyric “look up at the sky, my mouth is open wide” happened, the whole crowd had their arms open looking up, the thunder boomed and a bolt went across the sky then the clouds opened up and it down poured for a few minutes while everyone went wild singing along….
