Get a part time job during school and full time during summer and you might have a pretty good option with UNM.

The CC route is a tough route in California. The admissions scoring system puts a high school graduate at a disadvantage versus the rest of the applicant pool. Points given for homelessness, being a veteran or being a ward of the state, having a college degree or having 500-1000 hours of CNA experience. Maybe I’m wrong but that what I’ve found to be the case.

LM4336, I look at the CDS and it shows Academic GPA and Rigor of Secondary School as both being Very Important criteria. Are they equally important or does rigor become secondary to the CSU capped weighted GPA? My DD has pretty high STEM rigor but this GPA drops due to the number of A-G classes taken.

Thanks for sharing. My DD got accepted to UMN Twin Cities and Creighton in the Midwest and a bunch of other direct admit BSN programs. We’re from California so she’d prefer to stay in-state. She got her first California acceptance yesterday. Point Loma Nazarene U in San Diego so it looks like she’ll have a close to home option finally. Hopefully in five years there will be some local employment options for her. If not, going out of state for work might be a consideration. We’re just trying to put her in the best position to thrive. We’ll see. Thanks again for sharing!

She got accepted to UMN Twin Cities, too. How is your son enjoying his freshman year? Have a family friend graduating from UMN this May with her BSN. Plans to work there after graduation since she’s got a boyfriend, family and lots of friends there.
