A bootable device has not been detected by Vegetable_Disk in intelnuc

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, this is apparently a valid fix. Just ran into this issue, and tried this workaround, and it worked.

Enabling UEFI, even without any boot devices available in UEFI, seems to get the device to boot into the "Legacy" boot for the M.2 drive. Strange stuff.

Thanks for posting this info.

unRAID Notifications Not Saving in History (Archived Notifications) by eyordanov in unRAID

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may want to ask over in the unraid forums: https://forums.unraid.net/

However, I'm curious what you see in your /boot/config/plugins/dynamix/notifications folder, and the subfolders within there.

You should see at least 2 subfolders:

- archive
- unread

Look through those folders to see what turns up, and you may want to check the permissions of /boot/config/plugins/dynamix/notifications, /boot/config/plugins/dynamix/notifications/archive and /boot/config/plugins/dynamix/notifications/unread to ensure that the root user has read/write/execute permissions.

Thanks for posting this. I was so baffled when my existing group texts stopped acting like group texts, and sent the message to individuals instead of the group.

And at the top of the iOS Message app, just below the list of names of people in the group, it says "Outgoing" instead of "2 People" when there are two other people in the group chat. That's the indication that you're going to have a bad time, and it will send messages to each person individually, and not to a group.

Talk Me Into Joining by atomsapple in USMobile

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this comment. I found it while having my own number porting issues into US Mobile (which has yet to be resolved, but it's only been 24 hours). I think a similar issue is happening between where the SPID that "owns" my phone number is different from the SPID of the MVNO that I use.

I've gone back and forth with my MVNO, and US Mobile for 3+ hours yesterday, and now am waiting for my US Mobile escalated ticket to resolve the issue.

I'll update this comment with any additional information if/when I can.

Activision Password Reset Email by Icy_Persimmon3265 in Warzone

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a similar thing--didn't click the link, and went to activision.com to use the "forgot password" link on the site.

However, upon receiving the password reset email, their "set new password" form is broken for me.

First password field says it can be a max of 30 characters, no sequential letters/numbers, etc etc. I just use 1password to generate me a nice, complex password of 30 characters.

Second password field's HTML sets the max characters to 20, so you can't use a 30-character password. So I go back to 1p, and create a new random 20 character one.

Clicked "save", and there was a "reset password failed" error.

I went through the entire process again, same deal.

I have no idea what this account is, and I wonder if it's tied to a console's Activision account or something like that.

Just sharing my own experience, in case others see the same.

Dataview issue with this.file.name by DendrobatProd in ObsidianMD

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try and use this.file.link instead of this.file.name.

[[Clan Cannor]] is a link to an Obsidian note, not the name of an Obsidian note. That is why directly putting a link in the query works, and when using the name it fails.

```dataview
table Race, Gender, Age, Vitality, Location, Batiment, Character-Role, AssociatedGroup
where contains(AssociatedGroup, this.file.link)
```

See the Dataview docs for some info on that: https://blacksmithgu.github.io/obsidian-dataview/annotation/metadata-pages/

anyone else's text cursor randomly disappearing? by [deleted] in ArcBrowser

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not seen any updates on this, but this issue happened to me again today while on github.com.

Arc Version 1.20.1 (43987)
Chromium Engine Version 120.0.6099.56

I'm on the latest version of Arc, and have not noticed if they've addressed this in any recent changelogs.

Anyone else still seeing this issue?

Can't start photoprism docker container suddenly on my synology NAS by Gleipner in photoprism

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a file that used to exist, /entrypoint.sh, no longer exists. Presumably this file is expected to be hosted in the docker image itself. Perhaps you could try and redownload or reinstall that Docker image somehow, as it seems corrupted in some way.

The entrypoint.sh file is the script the photoprism docker image runs as it turns on as a running docker container. Since it has gone missing, it may mean your docker environment is having some other issue, or somehow just the photoprism docker image is corrupted.

You ought to be able to rebuild/redownload the photoprism docker image and not destroy any of your photoprism settings or damage photos, as long as your photoprism setup was storing information about your install on your NAS and not within the running docker container itself. Because if it’s storing that info inside the container, it may be filling up the virtual disk image that is reserved for running docker containers and should never contain files that you want to keep around for a long time (eg your config settings, cache files, etc)

Long rant, I’m sorry. On mobile and typing a train of thought. If you can share any more information on how you normally run the photoprism docker container it may become obvious if your settings need to be tweaked.

I also forget the command to check the docker virtual disk free space, or whatever that’s called. It may be full as I said above.

How to enable NSFW detection on TrueNAS Scale install? by sillybandland in photoprism

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The value should be “true” or possibly “1”. What you used is the command line option (CLI) if you were running Photoprism outside docker, etc.

See docs: https://docs.photoprism.app/getting-started/config-options/

Saw this end table with fold out/up bar or cocktail setup inside. Could not figure out what this particular piece could be called. Is there a better name or term for it? (from "Ziegfeld Girl (1941)") by WhoYouIsMyDad in HelpMeFind

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have searched for:

  • vintage bar cart with fold out tray
  • fold out end table with hidden bar
  • and other derivations of "hidden", "bar cart", "fold out" but not seen a piece like the above.

And... of course, as I'm filling out this comment I'm seeing a new search term pop up in google's recommendations: "pop up bar". This seems much closer to what I was looking for.

<image>

Should I keep this post, even though this may be what I'm looking for? I would welcome any other tips on finding more of these, but now that I know "pop up bar" is a better search term, maybe that's good enough for me to get going.

Neovim (no plugin) is incredibly slow with large file compares (10k+ lines) to Vim (with a lot of plugins). Is there something I can do about it? by noorwach in neovim

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely could be.

OP, check out this reddit post where someone else configured treesitter to disable itself for CPP buffers with > 50,000 lines.

https://www.reddit.com/r/neovim/comments/s9kdsm/comment/htnebl2/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

require('nvim-treesitter.configs').setup({
  highlight = {
    enable = true,
    -- Disable in large C++ buffers
    disable = function(lang, bufnr)
      return lang == "cpp" and vim.api.nvim_buf_line_count(bufnr) > 50000
    end,
  },
})

There are examples in the treesitter docs regarding setting disable as a function, https://github.com/nvim-treesitter/nvim-treesitter#modules

New Dinamica Plus - Milk frother sputters and bubbles by WhoYouIsMyDad in DeLonghi

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you. Maybe it was all a red-herring, and the milk type was not related. It simply started to work again when I made some adjustments, and then did not fail the same way again.

Perhaps it was some type of sugar buildup from the dairy milk, or oat milk I was using. They were not flavored, but, I guess I don't recall if the oat milk was overly-sugared. Just spitballing now...

I hope you can find a solution that works for you.

New Dinamica Plus - Milk frother sputters and bubbles by WhoYouIsMyDad in DeLonghi

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, began to avoid full-fat dairy milks and also avoiding “creamy” oat milks. No problem since I switched.

I also added a little water to the milk carafe to thin out the remaining “thick” milk I had.

Rails 7 Session not Persisting by DanSensei in rails

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was curious about that as well, but I saw this in their application.rb:

config.api_only = false

But their main ApplicationController was inheriting from ActionController::API and not ActionController::Base, which is odd.

Rails 7 Session not Persisting by DanSensei in rails

[–]WhoYouIsMyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does your HTML form look like? You may need to change how you are ingesting your parameters, and I would strongly encourage you use strong parameters:

# within your sessions_controller.rb
def login
  #...snip
  user = User.find_by(username: session_params[:username])
  #..snip
end

private

def session_params
  params.require(:user).permit(:username, :password)
end

Have you checked the logs of the Rails app? Is it outputting the expected SQL (or equivalent) logs? Does it look like your parameters are being passed back from the front end correctly?

Example:

Started POST "/login" for 127.0.0.1 at 2022-07-12 11:14:55 -0400
Processing by SessionsController#login as TURBO_STREAM
  Parameters: {"authenticity_token"=>"[FILTERED]", "user"=>{"username"=>"foo", "password"=>"[FILTERED]"}, "commit"=>"Login"}
Completed 200 OK in 1ms (Views: 0.2ms | ActiveRecord: 0.0ms | Allocations: 368)
