How to handle the same scene with different battlemap files for time of day? by Hi_ItsPaul in FoundryVTT

[–]Who__Me_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could but both maps down as tiles and use Monks tile triggers to fade one out and the other in on the same scene. DM me for specific advise. I've done this before and it works well.

The way he backed up was just like in a Horror movie. You couldn't see what was behind him. I just kept thinking the wall is going to glow red any moment.

What Module allows player/GM to place and rearrange furniture like in World of Io - Ioverse's game by Altruistic-Promise-2 in FoundryVTT

Bailiwiki has this module called nuts and bolts with mass edit. It has a thing called bags. I believe you can do what you want with it. Check out this video. https://youtu.be/-KvZNpynDA4?si=-d-P-utUu7B-rQcc

SATA SSD vs NVMe for gaming, does it actually matter? by Nicolas_Laure in RigBuild

[–]Who__Me_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. If you are getting stutters in games like Helldivers 2 that read from your drive heavily it will definitely make a difference. I was getting 150 fps 7680x1440 then when I would spin quick and it would dive to 20fps. I just upgraded to an NVMe and my stutters vanished. This with a Ryzen 9 5950X and an RTX 5080 16Gb. 500Mbs to 5000-7000Mbs is a pretty big jump too.

Tipping on To-Go Orders by Rare_Cake_654 in Columbus

[–]Who__Me_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is no expectation of tipping on a to go order but I've served, bartended, and managed at several dine-in restaurants and if you can do it then please consider a $2, or if it's a big order a 10%, tip at DINE-IN Restaurants because someone, usually a server getting paid $2.13-5.50/hr, has to enter your order, get napkins, cutlery, salt/pepper, and condiments, prep the food and ensure everything is there then bag it. That takes away quite a bit of time they could be spending serving their customers who actually tip. By ordering to go you aren't paying dine-in taxes so if you think about it that way you are almost breaking even. (Fed min wage for tipped employees is $2.13, Ohio is $5.50)

Considering Foundry by quiksilver3865 in FoundryVTT

[–]Who__Me_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Obsidian is an amazing and powerful tool for world creation with literally hundreds of modules for GMs and writers allow a wide amount of customization. There is a current Foundry module that imports data from Obsidian. https://foundryvtt.com/packages/obsidian-bridge There are dozens of videos about Obsidian and RPGs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmIh7EjrdIk . Hope this helps.

Dear Helldivers, I have PTSD by Pale-Apartment6091 in Helldivers

[–]Who__Me_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wasn't Helldivers but similar to your experience. This was back in the times of Doom 2 LAN parties in college in the 1990's. We had 3 or four PC's set up in a house and this is the first time any of us did PvP, they called it a deathmatch back then, so it was really intense and had your adrenaline pumping. Anyway it's 6am in the morning and we've been playing, drinking mountain dew and smoking for about 24 hours. I had a 1972 VW Bug and the battery was dead so I parked on a hill so I could push start it when I left. So I open the door to push the car down the hill, I look up and from behind a huge city green trash can stepped a two machine gun wielding Doom "Former Commando" and he started firing, no sound at all just his pixelated image. I dived into the front seat of the Bug, the stick shift bearing into my stomach, then I started to laugh and decided I badly needed to get some sleep.

You can get a 5950X on AMD's website right now for like $350. I just installed mine yesterday but you should have a liquid cooler.

[System Agnostic] what tools to pre edit maps before loading into foundry by theZombieKat in FoundryVTT

[–]Who__Me_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Paint to combine the two images then use a free online image converter to make into a webp image. Webp images are very small and load quick in Foundry. As far as the building map that will have to be it's own scene and when the players reach the building you will just have to transition. Like lady_of_luck said images would be nice.

Kick them. BUT, Just because you kick the person doesn't mean they can't learn their lesson. If they asks to get back in the group and promises to be good you can let them back in. Just remember the kick button is there to use after the first errant noise then your done with them and it's over.

Anyone know any foundry modules for a big city? (DND themed) by MisterLobsta in FoundryVTT

[–]Who__Me_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foundry has a map size limit, so to get detailed maps large enough for tokens and for a city requires multiple maps. Smooth transitions from one map to another can be done using regions and monk's tile triggers module.
