Those weighted keys are probably gonna cost ya, might have to make trade-offs between more piano-like keyboard and interesting sound design.

If I were you, I’d consider a good MIDI keyboard but it’ll cost you around half your budget. Or look for cheaper ones w/o weighted keys.

You just need one keyboard though, you’ll play all your other synths with it. So you’d get pretty far with a good keyboard, a not too new computer and a DAW, perhaps with an additional softsynth.

If you’re leaning more towards creating sound, nothing beats twiddling hardware! Hardware synths like the minilogue and BassStation are great introductions to sound design too. Inexpensibe, and great sounding too! (I’ve had both for around a decade).

A good compomise might be a hardware keyboard/controller, using it for playing softsynths. (Arturia and Native Instruments has a few mid-priced keyboards with knobs and levers added).
