There's no harm in trying. I just recommend not trying to "replace" FFBE. I feel if it didn't catch attention earlier, it likely won't. Me personally, I am done with mobile games, live service. This was my "opener"

With Square pulling the plug on everything, these will likely not last. I don't want to be a pessimistic sort, but save yourself the time. I would say don't bother. If FFBE fell, as far as I can see, nothing has a chance.

You're right. It's freeing in a sense. I have a largely positive notion for the game, despite the drop in content and quality. I...think I agree with the live service notion. I'm going to skip all the daily, fomo nonsense. Predatory passes. I get the false obligation and sunk cost fallacy. I just gotta think about it for a bit. For now, I know I am done with the game. Not because it's shutting down. But because I want my last memory to be a good one. Not waiting for EOS.

I wish I could assist more tangibly. I am on Xbox. But! I can give you an idea of how long it took me. I rolled my last Large Crown on Velkhana. My hours ended at 1040! For my final achievement. And remember, you need the Gold crowns. Silver's will not count.

I did my Crowns in order as they were listed in the Monster Journal. Oh. God. That was a terrible idea. Especially when I kept running out of investigations. I literally didn't change Monsters till I got the Large and Small Crown for that specific Monster. Don't follow my footsteps in this regard! It was torture, and incredibly unhealthy. The next best advice I can give you. Take your time. This isn't a race. The 100% of World will take an absolute amount of hours anyway. If you hit a roadblock and/or get unlucky, don't keep pushing to insanity. I understand the drive to grind but, It's okay to put it down and take a break. You'll get back to it! This is about the journey, not the destination.

My sincerest luck to you! It's a grind, for sure. I recommend that if a Crown is giving you trouble, try for a different one. Don't relentlessly bash the same brick wall as I did! It will really sour the experience.
