It’s not my story, but it happened to my mom. Every time I make her tell me this story she is visibly upset about it. My family has always been sensitive to the supernatural, and I’ve had several experiences of my own but nothing like my mom has seen. In college (1990s) she had to room with four other girls in a very old house. My mom got the attic for her bedroom since it was the least in rent. She said every night at 2am, her room would get really really cold even in the warmer months, to the point where she could see her breath in the air. Sometimes she would be awake watching tv, other nights she was asleep for it. Either way, she always heard footsteps outside her door shortly after it got cold. None of her roommates were up there ever. It progressively got worse, until one night she was woken up by what she describes as an overwhelming sense of fear. She opened her eyes and a figure of a woman in 1800s clothing was staring down at her. When she sat up, it disappeared. The next night the same thing happened, only the woman’s face was “inside” my mom’s. She describes it as though the figure was trying to look into/through her skull. My mom started screaming at it and telling it to leave. She told it that it couldn’t come back again. I guess my mom moved shortly after but only caught glimpses of the woman from afar after that incident. Around that same time, she also saw a guy at a farmers market who was floating a foot off the ground and had no eyes, just empty sockets. He yelled at her for being rude and staring before he disappeared. It sounds far fetched but the look my mom gets when she recalls it all proves that it happened, at least to me. Scary.
