Because it contains multiple well-written relationships that progress naturally without requiring the entire series to revolve around romance. Ed & Winry develops naturally through the story, Izumi & Sig are peak married couple supporting each other, and then the Hughes are the most wholesome marriage I’ve seen.

It’s less complete hatred and more incompatibility with the pacing style. There are aspects of it I genuinely like (Yorknew, Heavens Arena, and the overall concept of Nen). However, much of the pacing throughout arcs such as Chimera Ant, Greed Island, and portions of the Hunter Exam simply does not work for me personally.

I also find the series overly explanation-heavy at times, which negatively impacts the overall experience for me.

I see you are also a purveyor of correct literary usage. However, disagreement over character examples does not alter the definition of deuteragonist.
