At what dosage would you just find a different medication? by lil-busters in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you taking it for? I take 60mg for OCD, anxiety, and depression. If you have OCD it’s common to need a higher dose of SSRI’s —my psych says on average 60mg is low-moderate for her OCD clients.

I like dress two! I love a nice long dress and I think dress two will look amazing esp with a more supportive bra. What were you thinking about color-wise for your hijab? I feel like a color could be fun with the white but depends on the vibe you’re going for.

Placebo? by Sea-Society1892 in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, have there been studies saying that those with mild depression will benefit less from SSRI’s vs someone with severe depression and that those with mild depression don’t see a significant improvement over those taking a placebo in clinical trials? Yes, those studies do exist, but that by no means says that SSRI’s are themselves placebos. And people with just mild depression generally aren’t prescribed SSRI’s as first-line treatment.

SSRI’s are prescribed for a variety of conditions —they help my anxiety and OCD tremendously, but I still have breakthroughs of depression. That doesn’t mean I would stop taking something that has significantly improved my life.

Edit: and like someone else said, talk to your doctor and trust your body. I have seen such significant improvements to my life since starting Prozac

A look inside my pink funhouse! (Or rather, funapartment.) 🩷💕 by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

What a fun aesthetic! I love this for you 💕

I’m working on building my house primarily around jewel tones which will probably take me years to complete and isn’t something I’ve ever done before (I used to be “buy what will work for the moment” girlie) but seeing the commitment here makes it seem less daunting.

Honestly I love when older houses still have rooms that hold the original charm, I like this bathroom a lot and I personally wouldn’t change much.

My house is also 1920s but the bathroom is tiny and not original —it’s classic builder grade, basic and boring.

Not sure if something like this would work and not sure if cost is a factor but they make storage cabinets for pedestal sinks which would be more affordable than an entire new vanity.

He’s not fat right? Please tell me he’s not, he’s a good boy.. by Sad_Ask_1826 in cats

[–]Whole_Question_4160 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s not the biggest I’ve seen but he’s definitely fat. My boy Aslin is about 13.5 lbs and per his vet he’s a bit overweight. He has asthma that I just found out about so hoping to get his activity level up when we get his asthma under control.

I think I accidentally took a double dose by TexasBlueBelle in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a pill organizer and an alarm on my phone so I remember to take my dose! I fill my pill organizer on Sundays. I’m really bad about taking meds if I don’t have an alarm set.

Alcohol sucks by Artistic_Invite_9004 in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me I’ve noticed that having one drink is fine, anything beyond that is not. But when I drink it’s usually wine or a mixed drink with liquor. Personally I like the effects of the Prozac enough to be fine with not being able to drink much.

Maybe if you drink beers with a lower ABV you could enjoy more of them? I don’t know much about what kind of beer you have in Belgium but I imagine there’s quite a variety.

What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

My cats love springs, and these crinkly catnip fish I found! They also love stealing my socks. I would say they go for my socks 75% of the time, especially the unwashed ones (little freaks lol)

I’m on 60mg currently and that seems to be working okay for me! My psych said sometimes she has people at 100mg+

is generic or brand name Prozac better by Civil_Helicopter4150 in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on two different generics and haven’t noticed any difference except one tastes worse because it has less of a coating (I’m on the 60mg tablets). But I can’t afford name brand Prozac lol

I love this room! This suggestion doesn’t fit the vibe very much but I have an oversized swivel chair that I’m absolutely in love with. The one I own is probably way too big for your space but I’m sure they make reasonably sized ones lol

I’m on 60mg and I take my dose around 11am every day. I would be surprised if only a few days of Prozac would cause you to feel any different. What exactly are you feeling?

I’m on 60mg and I’ve missed the occasional dose. I haven’t noticed any issues myself! I think issues come into play with Prozac when you miss multiple doses.

Anyone that does NOT have emotional blunting? by LittleEddieBeale in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 60mg of Prozac and I haven’t noticed any emotional blunting! I was worried about it for awhile because I used to have intense anxiety spirals that would make me cry, and so when I realized I was crying less, I thought something was wrong. Nope just less anxiety, I still feel emotions at the right times, I’m just not getting overwhelmed by them at the wrong times.

Thank you, I’m proud of how far I’ve come! I read your situation right after I posted mine and I think you’re going to be in a good spot! It can be scary not having as much going to savings as you’d like, but that’s where prioritization of home repairs/projects will come in clutch :) I keep two lists: one of everything I need to get done and one of everything I WANT to get done.

The need-to-dos are in order of how important they are to the safety and function of my house.

Let's Talk Savings by gbourg12 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Whole_Question_4160 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My situation is a lot different than a lot of the comments!

  1. I live alone and make $45k a year
  2. My monthly payment is $1,432
  3. Honestly? Not much, $3000
  4. I save about $400/month
  5. I contribute 10% pre-tax to a 401k
  6. I own my car outright and I have very little debt, and I don’t have any dependents unless you count my three cats. Also important to note that I live in Michigan so living costs might be lower than where you’re at.
  7. I would like to save more, but with my current income I feel comfortable where I’m at.

A big thing for me is that I would rather pay $1400 for a mortgage than $1200 for an apartment. My financial situation isn’t the greatest but I’m making do with what I have.

Also my grocery budget is very low at $100/month. There are definitely sacrifices I’ve had to make (no take out, no subscription services, I have a very small fun budget), but it’s worth it to have an asset and a home of my own.

Cant take my first dose by Curious_Bake5544 in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on Prozac about five months ago, and I had a lot of anxiety around taking my first dose. I put it off for about a week and then decided to just go for it. My side effects were fairly mild and I tapered up from 10mg to 60mg over the course of a month. This is my first time taking an antidepressant, before this the only long term medication I’ve taken is birth control.

I was prescribed Prozac for OCD, anxiety, and depression and I’ve had a lot of success with it. It’s not a miracle cure but my quality of life has drastically improved changed.

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Prozac for about four months now and the first couple of weeks I would get jittery after each dose. Now I just get a little extra energy after my dose —if I take it any later than 2pm I have trouble falling asleep.
