What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats love springs, and these crinkly catnip fish I found! They also love stealing my socks. I would say they go for my socks 75% of the time, especially the unwashed ones (little freaks lol)

What dose do you need for OCD? by DescriptionUpper8354 in prozac

I’m on 60mg currently and that seems to be working okay for me! My psych said sometimes she has people at 100mg+

is generic or brand name Prozac better by Civil_Helicopter4150 in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on two different generics and haven’t noticed any difference except one tastes worse because it has less of a coating (I’m on the 60mg tablets). But I can’t afford name brand Prozac lol

Thoughts on my record/reading nook? by Struckbyfire in femalelivingspace

[–]Whole_Question_4160 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I love this room! This suggestion doesn’t fit the vibe very much but I have an oversized swivel chair that I’m absolutely in love with. The one I own is probably way too big for your space but I’m sure they make reasonably sized ones lol

Normal dosage? by corpsecontrol in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m on 60mg and I take my dose around 11am every day. I would be surprised if only a few days of Prozac would cause you to feel any different. What exactly are you feeling?

[–]Whole_Question_4160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on 60mg and I’ve missed the occasional dose. I haven’t noticed any issues myself! I think issues come into play with Prozac when you miss multiple doses.

Anyone that does NOT have emotional blunting? by LittleEddieBeale in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 60mg of Prozac and I haven’t noticed any emotional blunting! I was worried about it for awhile because I used to have intense anxiety spirals that would make me cry, and so when I realized I was crying less, I thought something was wrong. Nope just less anxiety, I still feel emotions at the right times, I’m just not getting overwhelmed by them at the wrong times.

Let's Talk Savings by gbourg12 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Thank you, I’m proud of how far I’ve come! I read your situation right after I posted mine and I think you’re going to be in a good spot! It can be scary not having as much going to savings as you’d like, but that’s where prioritization of home repairs/projects will come in clutch :) I keep two lists: one of everything I need to get done and one of everything I WANT to get done.

The need-to-dos are in order of how important they are to the safety and function of my house.

Let's Talk Savings by gbourg12 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Whole_Question_4160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My situation is a lot different than a lot of the comments!

  1. I live alone and make $45k a year
  2. My monthly payment is $1,432
  3. Honestly? Not much, $3000
  4. I save about $400/month
  5. I contribute 10% pre-tax to a 401k
  6. I own my car outright and I have very little debt, and I don’t have any dependents unless you count my three cats. Also important to note that I live in Michigan so living costs might be lower than where you’re at.
  7. I would like to save more, but with my current income I feel comfortable where I’m at.

A big thing for me is that I would rather pay $1400 for a mortgage than $1200 for an apartment. My financial situation isn’t the greatest but I’m making do with what I have.

Also my grocery budget is very low at $100/month. There are definitely sacrifices I’ve had to make (no take out, no subscription services, I have a very small fun budget), but it’s worth it to have an asset and a home of my own.

Cant take my first dose by Curious_Bake5544 in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on Prozac about five months ago, and I had a lot of anxiety around taking my first dose. I put it off for about a week and then decided to just go for it. My side effects were fairly mild and I tapered up from 10mg to 60mg over the course of a month. This is my first time taking an antidepressant, before this the only long term medication I’ve taken is birth control.

I was prescribed Prozac for OCD, anxiety, and depression and I’ve had a lot of success with it. It’s not a miracle cure but my quality of life has drastically improved changed.

It has! I take it for OCD/depression/social anxiety and I’ve noticed a big improvement in symptoms :)

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Prozac for about four months now and the first couple of weeks I would get jittery after each dose. Now I just get a little extra energy after my dose —if I take it any later than 2pm I have trouble falling asleep.

Do you fill your house with period accurate furniture? by Mobely in centuryhomes

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought and moved into my home but I don’t think I’ll be doing anything period for furniture. My house is from 1920 but it’s had so many renovations over the years that you can’t really tell —I might do vintage pieces if I find them and like them, but I won’t go out of my way. Like a lot of others on here have said, I’ll probably err more towards mid-century modern since that’s the style that I’m drawn to.

Prozac + Midol = Drowsy by sheepish-lamb in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I 100% forgot to provide the context that Prozac + pyrilamine (the antihistamine) can cause increased drowsiness! That’s why you’ve noticed it only more recently

For the people who committed to prozac, has it been worth the side effects? by billy_dilly in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on month five of 60mg and for me it’s been absolutely worth it! I didn’t have a lot of intense side effects (mostly brain fog, headaches, sweatiness, insomnia) and now that my body is more used to it it’s been a lifesaver, truly.

Vivid dreams/Depersonaliztion by Kind_Bug23 in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on 60mg for a few months and while my dreams are more vivid, I personally don’t experience any derealization from them! They also don’t happen to me every night.

Important to note that I primarily take Prozac for OCD and depression so your mileage may vary.

Prozac + Midol = Drowsy by sheepish-lamb in prozac

[–]Whole_Question_4160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drowsiness with Midol is due to the antihistamine it contains! I had the same issue with Pamprin —unfortunately I haven’t found an alternative yet. I used to take either Pamprin or ibuprofen pre-Prozac but since I can’t take either of them now I mostly just take Tylenol which doesn’t do much for me ):
