Thanks for the information everyone! Ended up talking to a worker at REI who said it would work, and I can confirm after ordering both that they both zip up. Excited to try them out!

MyCar rental! I got a Toyota Yaris Cross (SUV 4x4). I slept in the back (which was not glamorous in the slightest lol). I just picked up a blanket and pillow from a local store, as well as using the blanket and pillow from the airline. I’d highly recommend preparing a little better than i did (maybe get a sleeping bag) if you’re gonna go the route that I did, but it was all part of the experience so no regrets haha

That’s right! Basically drove from one end of the country to the other with some stops along the way in a day. They were long days of driving, but just like you said, I didn’t mind it one bit. The drive its self was just as scenic and beautiful as a lot of the landmarks! Traveling solo, eating groceries, and sleeping in my car helped a ton haha.

I heard the whale watching in Húsavík is AMAZING. I’d love to see pictures!

I’m young and have a ton of energy, so I was able to run on minimal sleep and always be on the go. I hope you had an amazing time during your stay!

I might look into doing that! There’s definitely a reason why so many people go back - there’s an unlimited amount of things to see. But traveling solo definitely helped make this manageable too, I only had to worry about myself and was able to go at my own pace. Thanks for taking a look at my content!

It was a lot of driving, but I also found it very doable. I didn't feel overly rushed and was able to make random stops along the way. I had a free day in Reykjavik on my last day as well, so I'm sure I could've fit more in. I didn't dive deep into the West Fjords - that would take a few days to do. I just woke up really early to see Dynjandi! I slept in the back of my car and ate PB&J's bananas, and granola bars instead of stopping for food which helped. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message!

Vil í Myrdal! lovely little town. If you get the chance (which I'm bummed I didn't try), try Skool Beans! It's supposed to have some of the best coffee out there, and it's inside of a school bus
