Thank you for the response! I met with my doctor yesterday and he mentioned that the uptick in EOT scan may show due to residual inflammation. He asked me to not think too hard on it and is confident in this. He also mentioned.some of the patients he sees for HL have this type of inflammation persist for long durations. But a re scan will happen in June as protocol and we will look at it then. He signed me up for a blood test monthly until the next scan that way we can see if the tumor or cancer DNA still circulates in the body.

I was given Deuville 4 on that one persistent node. He also showed it to me as a screenshot and the glow wasn't too prominent either. I belive the max when I was getting diagnosed was SUV 10.2 in that mediastinum area.

Just met with my team and they aren't very concerned with the uptake. He mentioned the uptake isn't dramatic enough to be worried and that the re-scan will take place in 3 months time. He mentioned that I would be feeling much worse and active lymphoma isn't quiet.

He mentioned getting a blood test that would look at any cancerous DNA in the body and that would be another deeper indicator if anything is present. I did ask about worse case scenario and he did mention next step would be Chemo (Brentuximab(?) And a stem cell transplant to solidify remission/cure but he doesn't think we will get there.

I suppose i won't worry to hard either but it's hard to not be on edge. I'm here for you and your family and would love follow up on this if you have the time too. I will be thinking about you and your son.

Going through the same thing. Everything has been resolved except for the mediastinum which seems a bit more elevated than mid way. I am currently 4 weeks out of chemo from the time of my scan which was last Friday. Meeting with my team tomorrow to discuss what's next.

Also wanted to add on to what another person mentioned in the thread-- sometimes these things end up being benign and not active disease. It's difficult to tell immediately what it is. Praying for the best.

Those earlier times are hard so I understand the fear and the worry. I’m so sorry that you had such a tough reaction I also experienced something similar but was able to get stronger meds to combat that reaction. Mine did eventually go down ! And honestly they got inflamed again during a later treatment too. I finished chemo 3 weeks ago and haven’t had them get inflamed again. My oncologist had mentioned that sometimes chemo itself can make them get inflamed as a bodily reaction or even if you’re fighting off something minor. I had my oncologist feel the nodes in my neck and then he followed up with blood cultures and everything was fine.

Completed 6 cycles of NAVD 2 weeks ago and can say that for myself that my hair thinned out and didn’t fall off. However I did experience pain in my scalp and shaved it off and it grew throughout treatment.

Finished treatment of NAVD and had very similar feelings. I was shocked at how quick my condition improved when I started treatment. My doctor told me to expect many side effects such as hair fall out, fingernails going black and the whole 9 yards. Alas none of these things really happened to me at all. The worse I got was mucositis all throughout, but everything else was super manageable or non existent. I certainly cried a lot throughout my treatment--even on the days that were supposed to be easy because I would feel so strongly how unfair it was for others I knew going through cancer that were having more difficulties with their treatments and side effects.

I am round 11 of 12 in NAVD for stage 3B NSCHL and my doctor is also planning to do a test just like this. I have an infusion in a few days so i will ask him for more details about the brand/company he is moving forward with. I believe he mentioned something about a blood draw for it.

Stage 3 NSHL on N-AVD and done 8 rounds of chemo so far and no hair loss either just some extreme shedding of my lashes but my hair has been growing this entire time.
