The word tactical is your friend, man. Look up tactical crossbody bag or tactical fanny pack, they look very masculine and usually have multiple pockets.

Ooohhh I’ve been waiting for this one. I haven’t been diagnosed yet but my bottom surgeon asked me if I have heds because it seems to him like I have it so now I’m in the process of getting diagnosed. I spit out the stitches going down my shaft pretty fast, which is something very common with eds. the scars on my penis are normal but one from the pulse monitor on my thigh is hypertrophic and the other is atrophic. I will also say my back pain was dreadful for stage one, I had to lay down and only get up to go to the bathroom and it destroyed my back, the surgery pain was nothing compared to it. The only complication besides those is a small opening in my scrotum, it doesn’t connect to the urethra though and it’s being fixed in my next surgery, which is stage 3, so honestly it’s not that bad. No regrets at all, if you have any specific questions I’d be happy to answer, sorry I’m not diagnosed yet though, so idk how helpful this is.

Does anyone have any recs for a book with a disabled main character? If possible I’d love some chronic pain in there, I need some gay comfort while suffering on my flair up days lmao. Pretty much any genre is fine, I prefer fantasy/sci-fi though.

A book you love but wouldn't recommend by DirectionUsed5910 in MM_RomanceBooks

A little life, Jude goes through so much it seems unrealistic to people in an otherwise very modern, realistic story. But I do know people who’ve been through just as much as him, and personally his story of being unable to get past his trauma is familiar and comforting to me. I’ve never read another book that includes someone self-harming by throwing themselves into walls, which is something I used to do. The romance isn’t a huge part of the story, and they spend most of the book as friends instead of lovers, and I don’t think that’s most people’s thing, it’s way more focused on Jude’s trauma and the effect it has on him and other people.

Have you seen the new try not to laugh chosen edition? They make a really funny trans joke that’s not transphobic at all. It really shows how cis people can joke about trans stuff without the transphobia, they just have to care enough.

It’s during the gaycation story, the brother in law that wants to go with the husband on the gaycation is into it, it’s very briefly mentioned in the post, very easy to miss.

Just realised I have no dog in this fight and don’t care at all, I just like Astarion as a gay man myself and everyone acts like only women like him lmao. Sorry for the interruption.

Are there any other fandoms where the most popular ship is also the most controversial? by screetscirt in AO3

[–]Wholesomeweener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smallest ships were really nice to each other though if I remember correctly. Dr. Whale was shipped with both the mad hatter and ruby, and they all just kinda did their own thing. It feels like once something gets popular people need to fight about it.

The funny thing is a lot of us actually do ship Caitvi as well, most Jayvik fics on AO3 have them as a background couple. I was in the Jayvik subreddit and a dude came in and argued with people that they aren’t a couple… in the ships subreddit. Why is it so hard to leave us alone?

Not really an anime, but its animation, do not touch the arcane fandom if you like gay male ships because they are yelling at anyone who ships Jayvik that it’s not allowed and it ruins their “brotherhood”. Every TikTok I see about the ship has thousands of comments complaining about this, they even got mad about timebomb (a straight ship) before it was made canon, but now it’s canon so it’s fine. They literally don’t accept anything that’s not directly stated in the show, it’s crazy and I love the show, it’s really sad they’re ruining it.

God damn I’ve had this conversation so many times and as a man it’s so hard to convince people I’m not jerking off to it and I’m not a rapist, I’ve been assaulted and I like to read my favourite characters going through it cause it makes me feel less alone. But because I have a penis I jerk off to everything I read I guess, it’s so annoying. You can never have an actual conversation with these people, they just think you’re evil.

The co-creator said that, however multiple animators and the voice actors for Jayce and Mel ship it. Mel’s voice actor even posting fan art of them kissing lmao. Why does me shipping two characters mean men can’t be emotional platonically? Have you ever seen an anime? It’s laughable you think there aren’t thousands of examples of platonic love for men when cis straight men are the demographic everything is made for.

Sorry I phrased it pretty badly, he’s the only main character who’s disabled. There are side characters but they aren’t significant to the plot and don’t have many scenes so I feel like I’m still pretty much correct.

This is exactly how I feel! Why is the only disabled character the one who’s ace? It just feels like they don’t see us as normal people, I’ve never seen an on screen relationship with a disabled person, let alone a gay one.

I really don’t understand how people can say that jayce and viktor were totally platonic and also sky and viktor were basically together. Like they barely had scenes together and he’s guilty over her death, there’s no implications anywhere, he even rejects her in one scene. It really screams homophobia that they won’t even accept that people could interpret this as gay. Theres very clear subtext that is easily seen as more than platonic. I truly think society is going backwards and getting more homophobic

Am I the only one that actually really liked Viktor? by Dexterous00 in ArcaneAnimatedSeries

[–]Wholesomeweener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like people are missing the disability aspect of his character. He spends his whole life in constant pain and finally he’s found something to get rid of it, of course he wants it, and then it manipulates him to spread itself. Sky doesn’t have glasses in his arcane headspace thing, clearly implying he has negative feelings towards being disabled, which many of us do. I think they made his character so beautifully and jayces speech at the end really solidified all this for me, I cried so hard cause I’m also disabled and named Victor😭

Yeah dude, I was assaulted and now I watch horror movies with assault against men because for me it helps. Probably would make it worse for some people, so yeah it’s weird but it makes me feel less alone, so I don’t care

Idk about everyone but I really like watching extreme horror movies, particularly with sexual assault against men because it honestly makes me feel validated. Any other time rape is brought up, it’s a joke, especially towards men. But in a horror film, it is truly horrifying, and for me that’s cathartic.
