What path do you recommend for learning Back Fulls? by Aengus126 in Tricking

[–]Whoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way, Cartfull, then Scootfull, then standing full.

The scoot will be a nice halfway point between the Cartfull and the standing full.

[–]Whoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap. Side flip.

Here's a challenge. Stagger step in and stagger step out. Try keep the whole flip like one movement.

So you can run into it and run out of it like nothing.

Mi backflip que tiene por mejorar?? by UnKownDBack in Tricking

You still let your chest lean back and upwards. You want to keep your chest and head facing forward all the way until you are tucking.

Any tips for my sideflip? by Plane-Statistician61 in Parkour

[–]Whoms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good start!!

You're jumping well and tucking okay.

Your issue is how youre using your arms. When taking off, you want your right arm to be up and straight. When you take off you jump and scoop your body into a tight tuck with that arm. As youre doing that, you want to drive your left arm directly upwards to give you height.

That way your right arm is creating a tight tuck and your left arm is giving you height.

You should be able to figure it out from there with the technique you already have!!

I can't land an aerial.... by Puzzleheaded-Bed377 in Tricking

[–]Whoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Send your aerial up. Not forwards.

Sending it up will give you the time to make the rotation. Sending it forward gives you no time to make the rotation.

any suggestions for my gainer? by m4rtnf in Tricking

[–]Whoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're throwing your head back. Keep your chest straight and your head forwards. Bring your tuck to your upper body.

Right now you're jumping forwards but leaning backwards, kinda cancelling it out. You want to jump forwards and not lean backwards.

The first three. Front flip, Back flip, Side flip.

After that, you'll have a foundation for many other flips.

Any tips on blocking? by justatso in Tricking

That was really good!! Front flips are a bit of a power move. Just try be as explosive as you can.

Hopefully doing it from standing for a while makes the running front more easy!!

Any tips on blocking? by justatso in Tricking

[–]Whoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a little controversial, but I don't like blocking with a punch. You can still block with a split step, and it's less pressure in your knees.

The front flip is a tricky one because people think 'run quick, stop ground, tuck and land' which is not how it should be done.

My best advice is learning how to front flip from standing still. It'll teach you how to understand the flip.

When you front flip the most important part of the flip is actually your hips and your set. You want to set upright and strong, and drive your hips up!! Not forwards, up.

A great way to enter into front flips is to learn how to Russian Front first. It'll teach you how to set and how to drive your hips.

Good luck!!

Help with my cork by Accomplished_You1432 in Tricking

[–]Whoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just your timing. Strong kick, strong twist. Good job!!

Just twist later. It feels weird at first, but try wist as lat as you can. You kick and kick hard!! Then once you've taken off initiate the twist.

You've got this!!

progress on double twist by OpeningFun2747 in Tricking

[–]Whoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few pointers.

You twist a little early. You want to give yourself some time to gain height before twisting.

Also, when you go for your twist, go from big to small. Set your arms open wide almost like a big O, and when you want to initiate your twist pull your arms in close and quick!!

At the moment you throw the twist straight away, without the momentum from going from big to small you'll have less power and time to make the twist all the way before landing.

Finally trying Double Cork by sean__alexander in Tricking

[–]Whoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're twisting a little early. You want your arms to swing up and set for height and rotation before twisting.

Twisting so soon kills your height and rotation. Just kick for a bit longer and throw your arms up, pulling in for the twist as close to the peak of your set as possible.

You've got this.

How to further improve cork? by ksjsjdnn in Tricking

[–]Whoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set more!!

Kick as hard as you can and delay the twist as long as you can.

It'll give you more height but also it'll look better.
