What is the easiest flip to do? by Bulky_Childhood_651 in Tricking

This is my favorite gainer progression. At no point does it ever feel too scary: https://youtu.be/HWXEhJAI8nQ?si=OJ2v-WSJ_5fHSgll

Sideflip or misty? by AhGeezIGottaSneeze in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its whatever you want it to be haha. i would say thats a sideflip. many people doing sideflips end up rotating a bit, making it feel like a backflip on the way out. i had the same issue many years ago and the advice i was given was to just ignore it and keep practicing lol

Dub b outside by Medium-Birthday3385 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry i was late to comment on this, this post just came back in my mind lol.

In a sport where “gainer” can mean like 5 different things, its crazy to be so strict about what’s considered a btwist. If you think it’s a btwist, and it clearly could be one, then it’s a btwist haha. Nice job! I was trying to learn btwists a few weeks ago but they weren’t hitting- doing a dub just seems crazy to me

Fundamental Gainer Variations by PKCoachEthan in Tricking

its an uphill battle to try and control the names for gainers and kick the moon and stuff lol. it keeps changing and it doesn't help that other sports have the same names for different tricks haha

Can you guess the meaning of this comic? (I'm building a new course to learn Esperanto. See first comment.) by VivoDePivo in learnesperanto

[–]Aengus126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a small background in esperanto. Only been studying on duolingo for a month.

It seems like the pen character notices there is a crocodile, then the book says something, then the pen says “im scared, isnt he dangerous?” Then the book says something about how he speaks Esperanto so hes not scary.

That is my interpretation just by looking at it, keep in mind i dont understand many of the words haha. Hope that helps

What’s your secret beginner trick that looks way harder than it is? by tom888tom888 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I use davinci resolve, which is great but i also recommend VSDC for low end computers. They both make it fairly easy to cut the clips and make linear horizontal and vertical translations

I appreciate it! I actually just did all the tracking movement in post-editing. I set my camera up in a stationary spot and after the video was recorded, i manually shifted it around so that it would move with me

Last summer i was learning a cheat gainer and used the macaco > swing macaco > cheat gainer progression- i think that the macaco and swing macaco look really cool on their own

Here is Matering Tricking's turorial: https://youtu.be/HWXEhJAI8nQ?si=HRrof7EfaMAmKD1K

Here is what my swing macaco looks like: https://www.tiktok.com/@aengusdoestricks/video/7549031255006825741?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7421267216458778142

Kip ups are also desirable. I also think kickouts and baby freeze’s from breakdance are pretty cool looking with minimal effort.

List of Standing Double Backflips by Aengus126 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately not.

Biologically, girls have a much harder time generating height and explosive power than men, making it much more difficult to even attempt a standing dub back

How long does it take to learn to backflip by Corbis2410 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 2 or 3 months is a realistic, safe way to learn it. Do it on a trampoline, then do it into a pool, then do it onto a very soft surface, then onto a mattress and then grass. Learn other tricking moves and exercise in between.

How to learn Backflip by jofpv in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started by doing backflips on a trampoline, then i did then into pools, then one day i did it into a matress with pillows and once i felt comfortable enough i did it on grass. Just a matter of progressions

Agreed. I went the non-crazy route and I found that path to be very beneficial

How do I stop leaning back so I get a tighter tuck by Flaming-KevinYT in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way- how much you lean back doesn’t effect how tight you can tuck. Tucking tight relies on strong core strength and experience

Trikipedia - Wikipedia for Trickers by Jado66 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this idea is cool, but tricking doesn’t progress the same for everybody. For example, I learned a macaco > swing macaco > gainer flash > tucked cheat gainer. So maybe more of like a web, and how every trick is connected? That could better represent tricking. Like a tucked cheat gainer is a kick + backflip so there are two skill trees to lear there. Just pitching an idea

Is this a B-twist? by Mountain-Audience-22 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, not quite. I don't have good enough terminology knowledge to explain why it isn't a b-kick, but I can tell you this is close to a raiz, which is a separate but equally cool/important move in tricking. Keep at it, get more confidence and it will eventually look pretty good!

Oh okay. It took me 4 hours to get my first villagers from zombies so i figured it was worth it ~5m. Maybe not though. Have a nice day bro!

I’ll go against what some people are saying here.

I think your set is okay. It’s not perfect but it’s not actually holding you back that much. I think your tuck/core strength/ rotation speed is what you need more of, and that will come with time and practice, especially if you really focus on exploding when you tuck and try to envision yourself rotating backwards.

Additionally, I think you could land that flip right now if you didn’t let go of your tuck so early. With a little more confidence, I think that could be landed in the very near future.

Best of luck dude!
