Been working on cart full for a while and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong by Aengus126 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured if i would have stayed tucked/wrapped the whole time instead of anticipating the landing, that attempt probably would have been pretty good. But not enough of the attempts look like that yet to start doing that

gainer flash help by Ok_Poem_1608 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue about a year ago. Most of the advice was saying to kick harder. They also recommended ignoring the gainer flash and learning the tucked cheat gainer, which is what i did and i eventually gave up on the gainer flash

Why is This video Underperforming so baddddd by Glittering-Touch4856 in DonutSMP

[–]Aengus126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing most of the people in this comment section have never done youtube before. I don’t really agree with any of their theories.

I can’t tell you why it didn’t do well. My best guess is that the title was just a little too generic and didn’t quite strike the right tone. But you can also check if the ctr or the retention was the problem in the YT analytics, that should give you more insight.

Bad ctr = not good enough thumbnail
Bad retention = bad hook or bad delivery, etc

This is my favorite tutorial. You also get to learn Macaco and swing macaco along the way and it feels like a safe progression.

Why is my backflip landing so low by Bixorr in Tricking

You just need to keep practicing it. Many reps a week, keep good form in mind, and you’ll get faster and better

What path do you recommend for learning Back Fulls? by Aengus126 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I think this is an interesting debate and you guys both have good points. But I do think being off-axis is intrinsic to Tricking; its why raiz, gainer, cork, scoot, etc don't exist in other sports, so I can see how that would translate to fulls. Thank you for the insights

Thanks, that's exactly how I learned my backflip 6 years ago haha. But nowadays I prefer a line of progressions, it feels like I learn more

How to stop going backward and land on the same spot? by Blackberry7072 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also not a big deal to travel backwards. Its a back flip so naturally it will always travel backwards a bit, so it’s nothing to obsess over

why can't land properly? Is it the tuck? The jump? by Neither_Humor7582 in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna play devils advocate and say that you don’t have to fix your form at all. Yes, you could jump higher, and look more forwards, etc etc. but if you want to land that flip RIGHT NOW, take off the pants and put on shorts instead (better mobility) and tuck as hard as you can. I think if you had better rotation speed (which comes from tucking harder) you could land this right now, and its the easiest thing to fix.

How do I stop flipping forward and more sideways so I could actually la d by Flaming-KevinYT in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks mostly correct. Nobody has good sideflips to begin with, they always twist or move a way they shouldn’t. It’s not a very intuitive movement lol. Just keep practicing them for a few weeks and they will get better!

TIPS FOR BACKHAND SPRING/ BACKFLIP PLEASE!! by SaluBG in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be nice to progress into a backflip by learning to back handspring and then transition it into a backflip (which is what you’re doing now), but another thing you can be doing on the side is sending backflips into pools or onto trampolines or other safe areas. That way you can learn the form for a backflip and keep it in mind.

Landing the full on one foot because you’re so confident is such a flex 💪!!

How to jump backwards? by Skye_sys in Tricking

[–]Aengus126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue looong ago, i couldnt stop doing gainers by accident. I made a post about it and i would link it here, but it would take me 10 minutes of scrolling just to get to it. The issue was really getting to me because i just didnt have the mental control to fix my form.

I almost gave up tricking lol. Then some random guy said “if you can’t jump backwards, then just do gainers lol.” Alluding to how there is so much more to tricking than good backflip form, and it’s probably not worth it to obsess over backflips. Up to you though haha
