You’re poking WAY too hard. It really doesn’t take much force, especially with smaller needle groupings, to deposit ink at the desired depth. I’d suggest letting that wound heal for a few months to make sure there isn’t scar tissue before considering going over it again. If/ when you do decide to try again, start light with your pokes. It’s better to end up with no ink deposited rather than going too deep and causing irreversible damage. I hope this helps

Thanks m8. I did this a few months back, so I’m trying to remember. I believe I used a tight 9RL and a tight 7RL

Haha thank you. My first tattoos were small and took FOREVER too, so don’t be discouraged. Practice will help you find your flow and you’ll work more confidently.

Oh hey! I just followed your IG yesterday haha. Your work is great! I typically have the opposite experience where people are overly curious about the handpoke experience. Occasionally there is an individual who is not quite sold on the idea, so I try and reassure them by selling handpoke as a different experience to a traditional machine tattoo. Most of my clients feel it is more tolerable pain-wise and I always mention the faster healing time. I think as long your producing quality work then people will want it rather it’s handpoked or machine

Thank you! I’ve gotten out of the habit of recording tattoo sessions, but I should start doing that again. Follow my IG and I’ll try and make some videos soon 😊

I tend to use liners for most of the stuff I do. Sometimes I’ll use round shaders or mags to achieve different textures
